The hosts of the Project Rungay blog took photos of all the PRW collections:

http://projectrungaypagetwo.blogspot.com/2008/0...

If you go to the main page, then go down the left edge of the page, you'll find links for all the Bryant Park collections, including decoys from Suede and Joe! Bodices that look like cowboy boots and shiny hologram fabric dresses. Oh the suckitude! Because Joe and Suede were still on the broadcasts during Fashion Week, they had to let them show to hide who'd gotten kicked off:

http://projectrungay.blogspot.com/

Re: The Military Record Attack

"Those on the left are only guaranteeing the future of such slimy attacks"? I think the fact that the same Swift Boaters (ie Corsi and O'neill et al) are again running ads against the Democratic nominee guarantees they'll continue. Democratic inaction won't help.

What would stop these attacks? Holding liars accountable. Neither the press nor the public are doing that. As it is, the slimesters' books regularly make the best sellers list and they get new clients every election cycle for their ads.

I will commend those who don't make baseless attacks, because it means we don't scare half of America to fear the other. I don't know if it's effective, but it's the moral thing to do.

Re: Liveblogging The First Debate

9:58 comment
John McCain just publicly endorsed the military coup that overthrew democratic government in Pakistan. How is he going to deal with the new democratic Pakistan if they know he's willing to support a military coup there?

Re: Clinton to Suspend Campaign and Endorse Obama

Hey MeM, I def agree. Those statements from Obama really pissed me off too. I might be described as a Paul Krugman Liberal, and he remains very critical of Obama. But Clinton began a push recently that pushed me over the line. I'm not unabashedly for Obama. Either one is worthy of my passionate support, and it's time to unite against McBush. I hope she is able to leverage her endorsement and delegates to push Obama to the left on issues like Healthcare (oh Obama....). I agree with Incertus that it's too late for that. She had leverage a month ago, but not much anymore.

I don't think you can use a candidate's crazy supporters as a reason to oppose them. This is the Internet. Everyone has crazy supporters. There were a few crazy racists at the Rules protest, but I don't blame Hillary for that. Anyone running against a black opponent will attract them, even if she attacks racism.

I don't see much point in Clinton as VP. She'd have to lose her independence as a critic, so the Senate is a better place for that. Also, I don't think she's got 'subordinate' in her psychology.

Re: Clinton to Suspend Campaign and Endorse Obama

Hey Rrp,

I wasn't addressing my first comment to Melissa's post, but to some of the discussion that followed it. Obviously I agree that Hillary should endorse Obama now that he has the delegates. I disagree with those who say she shouldn't, and should continue the battle into Denver.

I'll admit that I usually don't read the comment threads. I have read the posts for years, skip most of the pop culture and jokey stuff, and head for the political news and the invigoratingly angry rants. Melissa has been publicly pissed off for a long time over the same things that piss me off.

I don't expect all of you to be loyal Democrats. I'm not saying you should be! When the party is craven and cowering they deserve to get a kick to the rump. But as a party leader I do expect Hillary Clinton to be loyal to her party.

Re: Clinton to Suspend Campaign and Endorse Obama

Hey JulieMania,

Ask Melissa herself, I'm not a troll. I've been a supporter of this site for years, emotionally, financially, and ideologically. I haven't been a frequent poster, tho.

Those are my honest opinions as a liberal and a Democrat. I don't see my opinions as incendiary. The Democratic Party has to expect its leaders to work together. That means they'll have to compromise with each other, and let others lead on occasion.

To Kidlacan, if you can't find Democrats who are both good and loyal to the party you're not looking. John Conyers has been kicking ass and taking names for years now. The Illinois senator I'm most proud of isn't Obama, it's old Dick Durbin. They spent a long time in the minority and never stopped fighting the Republicans.

To sum up, I love a fightin' Democrat, but after the primaries are over, they're supposed to be fighting the Republicans.

Re: Clinton to Suspend Campaign and Endorse Obama

Hey Broce,

So you think it's OK for Lieberman to hold press conferences attacking Obama? He's still a good Democrat if he endorses McCain? Hillary should go ahead and endorse McCain, and that'd be fine?

That's not how political movements work. She can attack him as a good American, or a good liberal, or a good Republican. But once he's won the primary, she can't attack him and remain a good Democrat. At that point, she should follow Lieberman's example and register as an independent and drop out of the party for the duration of the election (as Lieberman did during his 2006 Senate run).

Re: Clinton to Suspend Campaign and Endorse Obama

Let me start off by noting I'm a fan of the Liss and a former Clinton supporter. But more than those things, I am a progressive/liberal, a feminist, then a Democrat. So the hierarchy goes Kneejerk Liberal/Feminist/Democrat/Shaker.

Clinton shouldn't stay in this till Denver to maximize her leverage on the platform. Her greatest leverage was when the Primary was ongoing. When an Obama win was obviously inevitable, Clinton could have dropped out on the condition that Obama support parts of her agenda. That's what Edward did. It's too late for that now.

Obama doesn't need Clinton's delegates, and with even her pledged super-delegates going to Obama she has LESS leverage every day.

The leverage she does have are her ongoing attacks on his legitimacy. Every time she notes that she got more votes than him (a claim requiring Mitch Daniels math) or compares his win to Florida 2000 she reduces Democratic support for him. She has a right to do this as an American citizen, but it makes her a bad Democrat. When the fight over nominees and platform is finished, we're supposed to shake hands and fight the OTHER party.

Clinton lost my support for the nomination because she wasn't a good Democrat. When she said she and McCain were both ready to be Commander in Chief, but Obama wasn't, I was furious. Despite Liebermanesque gaffes like this, if Hillary had won more delegates I would've supported Hillary, and expected Obama to do so graciously once the contest was over. I expected her to be a good Democrat and throw her support behind our nominee, unless she plans to join Lieberman on the McCain bus.

Re: "Women are treated better than men online," says NerdBoobLoot-man

I don't play online games, but I do live in a pretty geeky world: comics. I really doubt whether the sexism is more pervasive or malicious among geeks. It comes out pretty horrifically at the oddest times among the non-geek set, if there's no woman to hold them to account.

However, there are more nerds (ie socially inept) among geeks (ie minutiae obsessed). That means you'll have more people who don't know how to deal with women, or anyone else. And it means on average, they'll do less well with women in real life, meaning getting even 'cartoon' attention from a woman is more exciting.
