You bring the all important school-kids view to the table here. Your comment took me back to when we relied on the local radio station to list the school names - in alphabetical order - that would deliver us from our oppressors (read:gym teachers) for the day. I guess not much has changed. The difference for me between now and then is approximately 200 schools, plus the fact WJR was not reading the BUSINESSES that would be closed list freeing me from my oppressor. (That list has yet to be developed.)
More importantly, thanks for commenting on my blog! I hope you keep tabs on my sporadic postings and share a quick snippet of your insight.

Re: Fridgid Temps Close Schools

Hi Kathy. You're probably right with the legal reason angle. Although I think it would be great to work in radio, reading the school closing list would drive me over the edge.

Re: WordPress Plugin: WP-Notes

@Tara: Honored you stopped by. If I had known the word 'bling' would have lured you to comment, I would have used it long ago. For others stopping by, Tara Kelly is the mastermind behind Passpack.com. Even though he has his own "mii" set up for his height and weight, he really has to shift his whole body different directions, it's hilarious to watch. He got to level 5 today. He also did the run where you pace yourself behind your 'guide' until you reach the finish line. He gets up on his tip toes and runs really fast - blowing past his guide. The game makes him wait until his guide catches up. My wife was in stitches. Personally, I think he is just a show off.

Re: Nintendo Wii Found At Pamida

Hi Kathy and Happy New Year! I'm really digging the Wii thing. Good to know I have company now! The Wii Fit is awesome. I am already feeling the affects. Yoga will be a stretch for me - (Ha! no pun intended), but I'm geared up to give it a go and what better time to start my Wii Calendar than January 1st!
I know, I've been lame on supporting my fellow bloggers. l will make it a point to get back on track soon! Thanks for stopping by again.

Re: Nintendo Wii Found At Pamida

Hey Jaffer! Long time. Yes, it looks like it will be a long winter so we needed something to keep us occupied - since we don't have cable T.V. OR DSL - we decided to treat ourselves to a Wii. Also have the Wii Fit - which is a whole different bag of challenges!

Happy New Year to you too! I will pass along your greeting to the wife and kid.

[I got Twittered Out! It was a load of fun while it lasted, but one day I just quit cold turkey. This is a good thing. And because of this interaction factor, Twitter mileage will vary from user to user. I'm finding for myself that face-to-face communication can't be beat and there is no hiding behind a creative Avatar when it comes to interpersonal communication. Secondly, if I have to 'get my social fix' via the Web, I find that there is more satisfaction shaking hands via a Blogger's comment section, than anything else.
BG has been added to my feed. I've since deep sixed my Twitter account - cold turkey - due to some vibe-y-ness I was getting. I was having flashbacks to both High School and AOL 4.0 chat rooms. Haven't missed it since.
Blog on.

Re: Customer Service: It’s In The Details

Greetings Jaffer. And just what was the percentage of times that this mistake would happen? You've detailed the scenario that could ultimately lead to a mistake and I had a similar vision in my head; grab this thing, grab that thing, etc. What was your companies policy on taking care of the customer at that time?
Lately I feel like my odds of winning the Lottery are better than getting an online order correct. I know mistakes happen, and I'm not looking to lower my cross hairs on the person who mismatched my items, but I do know that there is a lot of competition for my money on the Internet. When an economy is in dire straights, and there are myriad others selling the same thing, you'd think they'd pay more attention to a simple detail. It's called 'double checking the order'. But then again, that's just me. Thanks for your comment!

Re: Sandisk “Sansa” Leaves Out Some Details

F: Funny you should mention the radio function. You have the spirit of an Uncle. You're comment should be a blog post in, and of itself. I can hear the noise and visualize the train engines releasing cars by your excellent description. The phrase 'living next to the railroad tracks', signifies the ability to block out things that most people would find distracting. It makes perfect sense.
(Mz. Being parents for us was 'unplanned'. It's wasn't even a consideration. I'm the last of five and my parents won't argue for a minute that numbers 2-5 were strategically thought out. I was in your camp a mere 3+ years ago and I still look at my kid and think, "Is he mine?" I have no regrets and try not to be the "hey, look at what my kid can do" kind of parent.
I love that I can write, re-write, and write again a short story that makes someone smile. And you gave me THREE!
As for: Bed. Breakfast. Bacon. How could ANYONE come up with something so disgusting as to keep a pro-blogger away??
