Trump's ill-advised war for his ego resulted in the world economy taking a hit because in retaliation Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, mined it, stranded the ships, Trump's response was a blockade and now he sees a money-making opportunity and may charge shippers for a problem he created.

Perhaps instead of charging a fee so that insurers feel more comfortable with the ships they insure going through the Strait and thereby helping Trump with the optics - "Look everyone! Ships are getting through the Strait of Hormuz!" Trump should pay the insurers for helping him sell the deal.

No wonder the world is turning against America and our mad king in the Oval Office.

Perioxide will kill the algae but there are potential dangers to the ducks who use The Reflecting Pool due to the large amounts being used.

How much damage depends on the strength of the perioxide used. The video shows them pouring pouring 12% concentrated hydrogen peroxide directly into the Reflecting Pool.

Because they are dumping commercial-strength pool shock formulas right at the edge of the water, it creates concentrated chemical hotspots that pose immediate and distinct hazards to any ducks nearby.⚠️ Immediate

Severe Chemical Burns: The workers are using a 12% concentration. This is four times stronger than the standard 3% household hydrogen peroxide sitting in your medicine cabinet. If a duck swims through or stands near the edge where these bottles are actively being dumped, the undiluted chemical plume will cause immediate, painful chemical burns to their eyes, bills, and the sensitive webbing on their feet.

Loss of Buoyancy (Drowning Risk): Concentrated chemical surges function as heavy oxidizers. Symptoms to Watch For

Irritation: Watch for ducks shaking their heads repeatedly, scratching at their eyes or bills with their webbed feet, or refusing to put their heads underwater.

Feather Damage: Look for ducks that appear waterlogged rather than dry. If a duck looks heavily soaked, is struggling to stay afloat, or spends an unusual amount of time on land trying to preen and dry off, its natural waterproofing oils may have been stripped.Internal

Toxicity: Watch for lethargy, a drooping neck, vomiting, or an inability to stand or fly.

Evidendly they either never thought about the effect on the wildlife or they just don't care.

Well then that would be a big contractor fail. To me it looks like navy blue in that photo (which would be closer to what would be expected by a color named "American Flag Blue) but it other photos it looks like a brighter blue.

I previously posted that Trump opted for cosmetic fixes because he wanted the Reflecting Pool to be open for his big event. The underlying problem involves the pipes that carry the water to the filtration system and return the clean water to the pool. That work is supposedly going to begin in October.

The current issue is that there was stagnant water that already had algae in it sitting for 8 weeks. It wasn't flushed before they began filling the reflecting pool so algae was introduced into the Reflecting Pool and multiplied due to the high temperatures and the sun.

The depth of the Reflecting Pool is also an issue - 18 inches at the edges and 30 inches in the center - that means the standing water heats very quickly and the blue color absorbs more solar radition than the previous dark gray.

Off topic but remember a while back news that the Postal Service was going to refuse to deliver mail-in ballots in states that refused to comply with Trump's demand to turn over voter rolls? This was one of Trump's Executive Orders,

The U.S. Postal Service has proposed a new rule that would allow it to refuse to deliver mail ballots in states that don’t turn over voter rolls to the federal government.

The rule, proposed last week, is vaguely written but appears to establish broad authority for the agency to intervene in the mail voting process. It calls on states to compile lists of mail voters that Postal Service employees would use to screen ballots for eligibility. If states refuse to comply, the agency could refuse to send their mail ballots.

The proposed rule is currently open for a 30-day comment period. The executive order calls on the Postal Service to issue a final rule by the end of July.

How can it be legal for the Postal Service to do this?

I don't doubt that if a case makes it's way to SCOTUS the MAGA justices will likely rule in his favor and may do it on the Shadow Docket because of a claim it needs a quick decision due to the upcoming election.

It's more than gnats.

The event begins are 4:00 and the main event begins at 8:00.

In the afternoon the temperture will be 94 but feel like 99. Hopefully that claw is very stable because wind gusts are expected to be 33 mph and the probability of rain is 55%.

In the evening the temperature goes down to 74 but the humidity goes up to 80% plus there's a thunderstorm in the forecast.

The combination of heat and humidity will be debilitating for the fighters plus the canvas will get slick from sweat and rain. The lighting will also add to the temperature.

Then there's the audience in the bleacher seating. There isn't any protection from the sun or rain. People are likely to be passing out. There is a canopy over the octagon and the ringside seats but it won't keep wind-driven rain out. Plus the canopy will act as a heat trap.

I can't believe thousands of people will show up on the Elipse in this weather to view people pummeling each other.

Trump though is likely to use the weather as another reason why he needs a ballroom.

Independent marine traffic monitors and shipping analysts have not provided public data corroborating the military has escorted a large group of ships through the Strait at night.

I checked again before I posted and there is still no corroboration.
