The way you think it works WOULD make sense, but if it's trying to cool the entire stand, why not have more water tubing around more of the area that comes in contact with the laptop? The system just seems restricted to that one little area, which (considering how relatively complicated it is) doesn't seem like it would be that useful.

Re: F-35 Lightning II Can Land In Your Driveway

Yes, it should.

And yes, you are. :p

Re: OhGizmo Review: Cloud Engines Pogoplug

Geez, I never had anything like that happen. The actual software running the sensors and the hardware integration could all fit onto the car's own internal computer, it's just easier for them to mess with on their giant rack system.

Re: Stanford Unveils Robotic Pikes Peak Racer, Autonomous Valet System

Drastically reduce the size of the equipment needed and implement it into all modern cars? Watch the valet parking video and tell me how much equipment you see... Except for 2 little bumper sensors, it's a Volkswagen Passat that you could buy in a showroom. Check out the read link for details.

And the thing about the Audi is that it's designed to develop a an autonomous system that can take over for you in the event of an imminent crash. You car will be able to execute an escape maneuver that a human wouldn't have the time or ability to pull off.

Re: OhGizmo Review: D-Link DIR-685 Xtreme N Storage Router

Sorry about that... That's why include a "more" tag in long posts like this, and if you view it on the front page, you'll only see the first picture and paragraph and a link to the rest.

I think whether or not the post is truncated depends on your RSS feed reader. I use Google Reader and it cuts off posts with "more" at the appropriate link... I don't think there's any way for me to modify the RSS feed directly, unfortunately.

Re: E3 2009 – Interview With Pro Gamer Fatal1ty

So, uh, just out of curiosity, what was the final score there?

Re: Maker Faire 2009: Steampunk Laptop, Keyboards, And… Other Things

For what it's worth, if "after the jump" appears in an article, it does always mean that there's a "more" link. And it does usually refer explicitly to what's coming next, 'cause I want you to click on and read the rest of the article that I put my blood, sweat, and tears into. Usually, articles are broken up this way if they include lots of text or several big pictures that would take up a disproportionate amount of space on the main page.

RSS readers are all a little different; when I use Google Reader, sometimes it truncates articles at "more" links and sometimes it pulls the whole thing. I dunno why.

Tell ya what, I'll try and change it up a little bit every once in a while, with phrases like "after the break" or "below the fold" or "click on, Macduff."
