It's just creating a rumor -- unfounded.  If there was some evidence like data on reviews of products purchased opposed to give free for review, there would be a basis for the question.  Actually there are studies that show that people give greater value to things they pay for than receive free -- discounting Michael's question as no more than insinuation.
