Hi Martin!

Yep, puppy is still growing and thriving. We've gotten into a stealth-chew-anything-she-can-find mode, which has been a surprise for the boys (never mind their mother's 87,245 warnings on the subject) but they're coping. And my floors are getting cleaner, lol.

Have I ever told you how brilliant you are?? BRILLIANT! I'm so going to do that with the decorations this month.

You know...I could go out and buy a TON of pink frilly hearts and things to celebrate Valentine's Day. LOL. Of course the boys would be screaming in horror, so that may defeat my swap the decorations mission. Guess I'll have to think of something else for January.

Doris, you're the reason I put up decorations at all for fall! The boys commented about how you always have neat decorations around for every holiday and they wanted to do the same. Thanks for being our inspiration!

I agree - I always try to emphasis healthy self esteem as a goal rather than "high". Those with high self esteem are less likely to reflect on their behaviour and its consequence to others.

Given the dramatic (and in my opinion) less than stellar result of the Self Esteem Movement, I would want to add the word "realistic" to your definition somehow. I agree completely that unconditional love of self is important...however it's easy to slide into an overinflated opinion from there.

The 20-somethings that have just finished college and demand the corner office with 6-figure salaries are a bit, ummmm, offensive. I'm glad they feel good about themselves, however I don't really care to spend time with that attitude. Just sayin'.

Single Maria, it depends on the extreme. I don't avoid ALL extremes....that would be extreme. ;) However, the pursuit of extremes can become a goal unto itself and take over an individual's life. If you think that you can only be happy when you're doing extreme things, then it's natural to progress to doing more and more extreme things until someone gets hurt. There is wisdom in being able to be content with moderation. And then have some extreme fun every once in a while. :)

Cheryl, we didn't do too badly today! Not as good as yesterday, but still halfway decent so I'm happy. Patience of Job. Hmmmmm. Sometimes yes, sometimes really really no! OOoo, a giveaway! I'll be over shortly!

Online Printing, I hope so! Today went rather well although I did speak sharply to certain individuals who were more interested in a gadget than eating their lunch and getting on with the day. All ended well though. :) Laundry done, bellies filled, and I even had time to vacuum and make a loaf of banana bread. They should enjoy that tomorrow! The bread, I mean. I doubt they care so much about my vacuuming.

Brochures, agreed. My boys are constantly asking me for permission to play games meant for older kids. I'm happy to learn about additional ways to protect them.

Charlotte, yes. I was surprised that you can set the limits at the hardware level. It's very handy and I'm going to use that!

Hydro floss, yes, they can be terribly harsh. And the boys can't make that judgment for themselves without being exposed directly to the exact images that I want to keep out of their lives for now. I'm so glad Mary took the time to share the information!

Ginger, I'm so glad you took the time to comment! Yes if it were me I'd get the puppy for him. If you do the work to train it well the first year, then it gets much easier from there. (Says the blogger who has a 3 month old puppy for the first time in her life.) Seriously though, by the time it's 5 years old, you should have a great companion. Thanks for the compliments, you've got me blushing. I'd love to know what your book is!
