Come learn about sustainable living and farming practices, bring a picnic or buy local on the farm. It is free, open to the public and from 10 - 3.
In addition to a farmers market, there will be alpaca, pack goats, walking tours and lots of demos and information on solar powered water systems, environmental housing, wildlife habitiat, organic gardening, etc.
This event is sponsored by the Maryland Small Farm Co-op, who will explain various conservation and stewardship programs available to landowners in Maryland. Visitors will be able to see the programs that have been put into place at Fox Haven Farm, a certified organic hay and vegetable producer on 400 acres. Stop by the Master Gardeners table and say Hi to me!
Directions: Take 340 West to Jefferson - Lander Road exit. Right on Lander Road - 1 block to traffic light. Left on Rte 180 - go thru town. Right on Rte 383. 1/2 mile to marked driveway on right.

Re: need a restaurant for 75-100

Just found this Forum while trying to find a place for 30-40 to have a luncheon on a Monday south of town. Too bad Monocacy Crossing is closed on Mondays!
I have been to the same places you mentioned with largish groups.
First, you might try Home at Braddock Inn. They have a large room downstairs for groups. Call Greg at 301-371-0411.
Have you tried the Cozy in Thurmont? They have lots of small rooms that may be joined together for a large group. May not be as nice as you would like, although my groups love it for lunch!
I have also had simple buffets catered by local folks at places like Ruritan and Amvet Halls. Not much ambiance but the price was great! I even had a buffet luncheon at Homewood at Crumland Farms for 100 in their big room. Depends on the atmosphere your group wants. Good Luck!
