I hope this story is true! Interestingly enough it proves all the Tapas knew she was lying as she admits she never left the table. So the money spent on the drawings, etc. out of the fund was fraud wasn't it? None came forward to correct the time-line and they went ahead with the big fan fare conference announcing the picture and time to jog people's memories. Incredible and very damning...no? I am sure Jane was asked why did you lie, who asked you to lie, etc. If this article is true, I trust she told the truth.

Hi all...still come here occasionally and lurk for the time being, enjoy all your comments.

Waitin' on the PJ...wow...could be here two months. Obviously all those hired lawyers have been earning their money and the fund objectives have loosened: "To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family." Boggles the mind and makes my blood pressure rise.

My goodness (polite words...you know what I want to say) these letters seem to be on a slow boat from China, circling the world three times!!! Is it a race on how many "sitings" to when the boat "arrives"? Once the boat docks, will the lawyers still stall things? Will someone or many come down with a mental illness or a location problem? Enquirering minds want to know?

Too early to give up yet Stanley, but I agree it is earily quiet. Although there is not a lot to discuss recently...(anywhere), there are a couple good threads on the 3 Args. tonight. One is "a lack of evidence, I am not to sure?", there were a couple more as well. Beachy posts the PJ have not given up!!!!

I am following this case for the long haul as well as I am sure all the rest of the crew.... cheers...hopefully something will happen soon!

The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell hit out, saying that unofficial sites such as these distract from the search for Madeleine. He said: "This man did not seek our permission."
Ooophs...we "all" forget to consult before we speak, no wonder the forum was shut down?

A senior Portuguese police leader has said his officers had more important problems than finding Madeleine McCann.

The leader of the Judicial Police Inspectors Union has previously been critical of Gerry and Kate McCann and last year blamed them for “hindering” the investigation to find their daughter.

His latest comments quoted in the Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas, come a day after senior police sources claimed the case is set to be closed and the parents’ status as formal suspects revoked.

Earlier this week Alipio Ribeiro, Portugal’s top policeman, admitted his officers had been “hasty” in making Mr and Mrs McCann official suspects in the disappearance.

His comment’s were interpreted by some police sources as a strategy preparing the public for the prospect that nobody will face charges, with the case archived and never solved because of a lack of evidence.

However, such a prospect is said to have provoked anger in Portugal where many of the public believe the case against the 39-year-old doctors from Rothley in Leicestershire, is being dropped because of political pressure from the UK.

Detectives in the Algarve, where Madeleine vanished last May 3 shortly before her fourth birthday, are still investigating the theory she died by accident in the McCanns’ rented holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

They suspect Madeleine’s body may have been disposed of in the sea, hidden inside a bag.

Responding to Mr Ribeiro’s accusation of hastiness, Mr Anjos told the newspaper: “We heard the director’s explanations and we are going to continue to try to clear things up duly.

“The subject should be discussed internally and not in the newspapers. “Everybody has a right to speak, and sometimes not to express themselves well.

He went on: “I am certain that all of my colleagues involved in the investigation are doing everything they can to discover what happened.”

The McCann’s insist their daughter was abducted and both deny any involvement in her disappearance.

They are keen for the police to continue investigating, but have also hired Metodo 3, a firm of private investigators to follow other leads.

A spokesman for the Mccann’s said: “As far as Gerry and Kate are concerned, the only thing in their lives is the safe return of Madeleine and Mr Anjos should keep his views to himself. We too hope the judicial police are doing everything they can to find her

I don't believe this either. Could it be a tactic to relax those that will hopefully be re-interviewed (I hope, but don't trust the word in this case) soon? No, the PJ have worked to long and hard to have nothing IMHO. I still have faith.

How low will they go??? Lynn I am sorry, I don't believe they are just odd balls or neive. I respect your right to believe that, but for me; their words, actions, hiring, fingering, conducting their own investigation, fund(s), deals, wider agendas and if the twins game is true (is a whole other scary realm) and I missed a lot but put together, it is not a pretty picture and provides a deeper insight, does it not?

Then under one of the articles today, I believe Jose posted, what appears to me is a new group, sounding like "the old" cult group. I have never seen this one. http://www.foreversearching...

Imagine the photo-op "Kate and Gerry searching the dump"! I think it is important, like John said "follow the money", although this is a little reversed, it still all about the money, the public won't donate to the fund if Maddy is presumed dead.

Although lots of comments are going through my mind, I guess the one that gulls me the most is for what reason wouldn't the parents organize a complete search of that area, maybe even breaking down and looking themselves? Wouldn't that have been a wise use of the fund? When Krugel came to town in July, of course K&G were still there and not suspects at that point. And surely the parents would know if Maddy had a pink & white blanket, maybe they should let Krugel know one way or the other to easy his mind, "I kick myself every day that I didn't pick up the blanket." Sounds like this is the local dump, wonder if he saw a...fridge?

Very interesting Jose, it shows another one of those; desperate times call for desperate measures.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed they were in talks with US networks, but denied that any money had been offered.

"We have been approached by representatives for both Oprah and Barbara. They want an exclusive interview with Kate and Gerry," the spokesman told the paper.

I guess the person who said about a month ago, dress appropriately with armor when going to the forum was a bit ahead of their time.

Hi PDG & Liz, I was feeling a little of that maddieites homelessness so I took a trip over. My virus scanner keeps trying to keep me out with this message, when I choose the Maddie topics or by the usual Maddie posters by popping up this message "VBS:Malware-gen"...really put a damper on things. Though I would pass that on. Not sure what it means, but I know it is spy-ware...hmmm, not sure if to accept or not?

Makes you wonder about the theory of these type forums and a fair trial? Or you could take it the other way, that they wanted it shut down, but I don't see any difference from several months ago, except for the influx of the pro's. The pro's had absolutely no influence on anyone that I noticed, so a last ditch effort was made to shut it down?

Police have been given the go-ahead for revolutionary DNA technology which could help solve cases such as that of missing Madeleine McCann.

Dnaboost allows scientists to unravel mixed and previously unusable genetic samples, and could hold the key to solving the McCann case.

Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, want to clear their name after they were named official suspects or arguidos in the case of their daughter's disappearance on May 3 last year.

Samples of blood were found in the McCanns' hire car and in their holiday flat.

The McCanns have always insisted there were innocent explanations for the traces found behind the sofa at the Ocean Club apartment, in Praia da Luz, and in the boot of the Renault Scenic they hired there 25 days after Madeleine vanished on May 3.

They claim the DNA could be linked to her siblings, two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.

DNAboost technology could help prove their innocence.

Experts have said the special software could identify up to 6,000 extra suspects per year.

However, despite impressive results from pilot schemes in Yorkshire, Humberside and Northumbria, police had been banned from using the tool for more than a year.

Scientists and detectives believed the delay was because the Forensic Science Service (FSS), who developed DNAboost, had lost control over the National DNA database in December 2005.

A Home Office strategy board now decides how the database can be used. The McCanns' spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, was not available for comment last night.
