Interestingly enough it proves all the Tapas knew she was lying as she admits she never left the table. So the money spent on the drawings, etc. out of the fund was fraud wasn't it? None came forward to correct the time-line and they went ahead with the big fan fare conference announcing the picture and time to jog people's memories. Incredible and very damning...no? I am sure Jane was asked why did you lie, who asked you to lie, etc. If this article is true, I trust she told the truth.

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

Hi all...still come here occasionally and lurk for the time being, enjoy all your comments.

Waitin' on the PJ...wow...could be here two months. Obviously all those hired lawyers have been earning their money and the fund objectives have loosened: "To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family." Boggles the mind and makes my blood pressure rise.

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

My goodness (polite words...you know what I want to say) these letters seem to be on a slow boat from China, circling the world three times!!! The Attorney General of the Republic of Portugal has assured yesterday that the diaries and correspondence of McCann were attached to the investigation report, a record in ten volumes of more than 1,000 pages.

Yesterday, investigators seemed convinced that the details of what really happened with the little English might be required.

At the same time, it was reported that the Crown, in the person of Attorney Portimao, Cunha Jose de Magalhaes, should issue in the next hours the British judicial authorities a letter rogatory to be interviewed relatives of spouses McCann. In particular those who dining with them at the time of the disappearance of their daughter while, according to their statements, she slept in the room they rented in the hotel complex in Praia da Luz.

Meanwhile, several local sources claimed that the traces found in the rental car of Maddie's parents were in fact "body fluids" whose DNA matches that of the girl child.

These same sources have also assured that the toxicological tests carried out on these famous "liquid prove that the girl had ingested medicines, probably sleeping pills, in large quantities." Enough at least for "making an overdose."

In the early afternoon, the police had also received a permit from the Attorney General to enable it to search the church in Praia da Luz, where McCann had used to come pray.

A place where specially trained dogs would smell of corpses, the same as that detected in the couple's car…

The police will take the opportunity to interrogate the parish priest, Jose Manuel Paticho to know whether the couple had made any confessions about her daughter.

One thing is certain, friends of McCann, interviewed by the English press, ensured that they were beginning to "crack": "Two days ago, Gerry was still self-confident and combative.

» Now, it is discouraged and began to doubt seriously… "

Edition France Soir du jeudi 13 septembre 2007 n°19591 page 8 France Soir Edition of Thursday, September 13, 2007 No. 19591 Pa

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

Too early to give up yet Stanley, but I agree it is earily quiet. Lynn I am sorry, I don't believe they are just odd balls or neive. I respect your right to believe that, but for me; their words, actions, hiring, fingering, conducting their own investigation, fund(s), deals, wider agendas and if the twins game is true (is a whole other scary realm) and I missed a lot but put together, it is not a pretty picture and provides a deeper insight, does it not?

Then under one of the articles today, I believe Jose posted, what appears to me is a new group, sounding like "the old" cult group. I have never seen this one. http://www.foreversearching...

"Since news of Madeleine McCann’s abduction in Portugal in May 2007, group members have worked tirelessly, distributing thousands of posters displaying 4 year old Madeleine’s face throughout the world. This story set off a chain reaction as members of “Forever Searching” became aware of other missing and forgotten children, and they set about raising awareness for all of them. Co-Founder Kathy Atkinson says “Any poster we send out could be the one that helps a child find their way home, and knowing that makes it all worthwhile”.

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

Imagine the photo-op "Kate and Gerry searching the dump"! Wouldn't that have been a wise use of the fund? When Krugel came to town in July, of course K&G were still there and not suspects at that point. And surely the parents would know if Maddy had a pink & white blanket, maybe they should let Krugel know one way or the other to easy his mind, "I kick myself every day that I didn't pick up the blanket." Sounds like this is the local dump, wonder if he saw a...fridge?

Very interesting Jose, it shows another one of those; desperate times call for desperate measures.

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

In other words, they will consider going on but not answer any questions about Maddy's disappearance...what would they discuss for an hour then?

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

High-stakes bidding war for McCann story: report http://news.ninemsn.com.au/...

A spokesman for the couple confirmed they were in talks with US networks, but denied that any money had been offered.

"We have been approached by representatives for both Oprah and Barbara. The pro's had absolutely no influence on anyone that I noticed, so a last ditch effort was made to shut it down?

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

UH HA HA HA HA HA, that is a riot...thanks Stanley!

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

NEW TECHNOLOGY COULD HELP IN MADDY CASE http://tinyurl.com/ywxe3y

Police have been given the go-ahead for revolutionary DNA technology which could help solve cases such as that of missing Madeleine McCann.

Dnaboost allows scientists to unravel mixed and previously unusable genetic samples, and could hold the key to solving the McCann case.

Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, want to clear their name after they were named official suspects or arguidos in the case of their daughter's disappearance on May 3 last year.

Samples of blood were found in the McCanns' hire car and in their holiday flat.

The McCanns have always insisted there were innocent explanations for the traces found behind the sofa at the Ocean Club apartment, in Praia da Luz, and in the boot of the Renault Scenic they hired there 25 days after Madeleine vanished on May 3.

They claim the DNA could be linked to her siblings, two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.

DNAboost technology could help prove their innocence.

Experts have said the special software could identify up to 6,000 extra suspects per year.

However, despite impressive results from pilot schemes in Yorkshire, Humberside and Northumbria, police had been banned from using the tool for more than a year.

Scientists and detectives believed the delay was because the Forensic Science Service (FSS), who developed DNAboost, had lost control over the National DNA database in December 2005.

A Home Office strategy board now decides how the database can be used. The McCanns' spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, was not available for comment last night.

Re: A New Open Thread For Madeleine McCann: Six Months Later

Not sure PDG mentioned a talk coming up, but didn't specify what the talk was or if she was going.
