I have the Govee system. It's nice, but it's hardly a eureka. In fact, I watch what's ON the screen in contrast to what is behind the screen. Wirecutter has been pushing this. This is the third time I have seen the recommendation. It raises questions about the inherent honesty of Wirecutter.

For what it is worth, I am especially pleased with the performance of Linux on a GMKtec mini featuring an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS (16 processors). It comes with a 1tb SSD and 32 mb of memory. I have a laptop with an i7 32mg and an SSD. I ran a performance suite on both boxes. The GMKtec was three to four times faster throughout.

Jeff's "consumercentric" company has gone down the tubes as far as customer support is concerned. It's infuriating that you have to duel with a bot to speak or chat with someone who is likely in the Punjab. Amazon'e entire business model has changed.

Try this: vduong@amazon.com with a cc to this: dherring@amazon.com. The first is the customer service manager. The second is the CEO of Amazon consumer. These email addresses worked for me about seven months ago.

Wyze is a significant source of spam. To control any of their devices requires one to create an account with one's email address (which Wyze verifies). From there the spam doth flow. I have replaced my Wyze lightbulbs, for example. Why does one require an account with the vendor with a 15 character complex password, to access a device from a device I own across the network that I own? The answer is simple. Draw your own conclusions.

I am a serial killer, ... of Bluetooth shower speakers. In one case I forgot to replug the hole. In three other cases, either I did not push the plug in tight enough or there was a design flaw.

The KithenAid grinder has aluminum parts and cannot go in the dishwasher. There are stainless steel alternatives that work quite well as grinders and sausage stuffers.

By the way, that Tramontina fry pan is superb and an incredible value. You just have to be prepared to replace nonstick cookware in four or five years. Heat distribution is excellent.

Amazon has "these" unisex sneakers for $85.00 but they do not exactly match Wc's photo in that they are white with vertical and horizontal blue stripes. Amazon does not offer a pure white version. Of the nine color variants from Amazon, none are available in my size (9-1/2).

Moreover, the swells are slightly different in location and there is the addition of two vertical stripes in raised leather which are not present in the Wc photo.

Onitsuka creates its own confusion as it offers MANY different Mexico 66 versions ranging from $65 to $360.00 on its website. Frankly, it amounts to corporate stupidity. It seems impossible to know if the sneakers offered by Amazon are essentially the same as those recommended by Wc. The visual style is certainly different.

Nevertheless, they are 5-star rated at Amazon.

That spam-guaranteeing Wyze bulb again. Requires a Wyze account with complex password. The email address is verified (Wyze sends a necessary pin code). The spam doth flow! The app occasionally requires the password which is easy to forget. Why does one require a 14-character password to manipulate a damned lightbulb on one's own damned network?

I own the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. Wirecutter is correct that they are pricey but incorrect with regard to requiring extensive set-up. The app is rather straight-forward and there aren't that many settings.

One of the superb things about this product is that you can connect to two devices. If one is the phone, it prioritizes calls over, say music from a second source. The music stops playing as soon as a call is made or received.

Sound quality is excellent, and the battery lasts about 14 hours on noise-cancelling. The right side offers a mouse pad. I have had some difficulty getting it to cooperate. It's supposed to control volume and media. Eh.

Oh, make sure you turn off the chat setting. Otherwise, every time you cough, the music and noise-cancelling stops.

To control the bulb you need the Wyze app.

To install the Wyze app, you have to provide Wyze with a verifiable email address and telephone number. (Wyze provides an installation code via SMS.)

I paid about $80 for a Lodge enamel-coated Dutch oven (which I use mostly for baking bread). It is extremely well-made — far superior to the no-name thing it replaced. The cover seats perfectly, and the enamel has no ridges or dimples. It cleans to immaculate with a combination of baking soda and kosher salt.

A comparable Le Creuset is about $400 and really indistinguishable from the Lodge in most respects.

Sorry but plastic cutting boards do not have to be scrapped because of cuts. From time to time, simply spray the thing with bleach. They are lighter than wood and easier to maintain. Moreover, they can hang from a hook on the wall. A well-made board will have some soft plastic at the ends to keep in place. Otherwise, a damp paper towel, between board and counter, keeps them from sliding around.

I'm pretty sure that I tracked down Santos' boyfriend or spouse or masseur or whatever. His residence is that apartment in Florida which houses Santos' supposed company. I do hope that someone is making an effort to see if he filed taxes in NY and that it is his legal residence. Residency is one of the few ways to overturn an election.

Correct. Documents are provided by the raw dump (which anyone can get). The dump only includes reviewed filings. However, the BMF includes the fact that the return is filed. My local database is accurate as of 9/12/2022.

Strange but the IRS does not show this Form 990 as having been filed. Even if it was part of the 1023 it should be recorded as filed. Could be an IRS error.

While Powell claims to take no compensation on the return, the nonprofit paid out $4 million in legal fees. I wonder how much of that went into Powell's pocket. The return is missing the required independent contractor information, which now looks intentional. Some fucking law firm must have received over $100,000 which triggers the information requirement. Are we to believe that the $4 million was parsed to 40 different firms?

I personally instigated the article in ProPublica. As the article mentions, I also did some of the background work. The point here is that there is a significant problem that only Congress can sort out. I have years of unanswered correspondence with the IRS. They are never going to willingly admit that they erred.
