Again a few seconds later on the next menu. This is a mistake I do too, and I'm sure it's the same for others. Why? Because Nokia are stupid and make their touch UI inconsistent. In some places you have scrollbars, some places you don't, some places you click once, and others you have to click twice. Crap experience for users.

Re: Looking at the Nokia Booklet 3G with an N900

1080p is great, not just for video though. My home monitor is 1080p and I'd really appreciate connecting to that with HDMI. I sometimes use my netbook as an alternative to my power-hungry gaming PC when I'm simply browsing the web.

Re: A Dongle Discovery

I have a couple of dongles from 3's network, both came locked. Flickr provides multiple URLs for the same image for different sizes. The exact photo you're linking to can be seen on this Flickr page (clearly labelled with CC attribution and James' profile linked):

http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatleydude/347697...

No one has said you should go through all images on your site. The plugin should have warned you that the image requires attribution, but it did not. James has now made you aware of the licence for the image and it's your obligation to correct your website.

The usage on your site requires attribution, fact. The URL makes absolutely no difference.

Re: Nokia N97: The Definitive Verdict (maybe)

Does the N97 have an on-screen keyboard by any chance? I know it's semi-redundant, but that's not stopped every other touch screen phone I have from having one.

The Android on-screen keyboard uses about 45% of the screen just for the alphabet. For Windows Mobile it's a mere 25% - including numbers and symbols. Obviously the super sexy winmo keyboard requires a stylus, but I can live with that.

Re: The launch of the Land Rover S1 by Sonim

Unique-ish. I've never had any troubles with sharing my photos. I agree that the UI is bad - thankfully I've only ever had to look at the settings UI when initially setting it up. Stylus text entry can be *much* faster. The biggest benefit for stylus text entry is that the on-screen keyboard can be much smaller - a reason why I hate many other big on-screen keyboards.

With the G1 it does bug me now and then when I've clicked the wrong link on a page - since using your finger or thumb is very difficult to be accurate. Here again, using a stylus with touch screen is much better.

Perhaps it's just the vertical-sliding keyboard of the BlueAngel that I hated, as the G1's sideways keyboard is great for me :)
