Anxiety is real, and I am so sorry it has been so hard (we have an adult family member with GAD.)

I would say plainly that SCHOOLS are a problem for kids with anxiety and homeschooling IS the solution.

4-H is the BEST! We were advisers to a Rocketry club and have done tons of non-ag projects! I highly recommend 4-H for all levels of learners because it is highly adaptable and suitable for all sorts of interests!

One thing to add. It is the OE emotionals who keep our race from being total savages, by showing us how to keep feeling in a world that tends toward hardheartedness.
Love my OE emotional girl, and I know she got a double portion from her parents. And that's okay. 😘

Oh my, YES. Thank you so much for detailing your struggles. There is so much doubt and confusion, and it is so unfair to the children AND the parents!

To this day, I am still told my girl is on the spectrum (by the uninformed. Autism was ruled out by a psychologist at age 6.)

The book, Misdiagnosis and Dual Diagnosis of Gifted Children by Dr. James Delisle and Dr. Ed Amend was a huge help in straightening my thinking out to help my girl. I highly recommend reading it.

I hope your story goes far and wide, so it helps others avoid the pitfalls we faced!

We use ALOT of video as reinforcement of lessons learned. Having a visual spatial learner, video becomes vital to helping my girl learn.

My mom said if I didnt always look thin and beautiful, I was telling the world I didnt care about myself or anyone else. It took knowledge of God's promises to redefine and reorient my thinking towards the concept of beauty.
