Sam .. Welcome back! Congrats on the new digs .. go to the Red Bus, forget Starbucks!

Anyway, the reason why I subscribed to AffiliateFortuneCookies in the first place was precisely because you cleverly integrated tangents of conversation within the context of affiliate marketing. For those who got on your case for it need to get a life ... good marketers need to relate to the entire world around them.

Lost is a great example of exploiting multiple mediums to build a huge fan base - on top of great content. Sounds alot like what you've been talking about doesn't it?

Keep the name - it's got some zen to it. Talk about the tools you use, the people you meet, the things that grab your attention ..... they'll all relate in some way.

Here's to 50+ more episodes.

LOL jameskm03 ... no fake sound effects added! The post was filmed at a Little League field in Alpharetta Ga.. and I guess the combination of a fond memory, spring time & baseball was all it took to get the birds out in their glory.

bknelsen -- You're right! It would be a perfect father's day gift ... When the day comes that I get a gift of ballgame tickets from my daughter, I'll be very very happy.

I also think it's cool to support minor league baseball teams .. fans there have a purity and love of the game that is not duplicated.

Hey Sam .. I've been set up with GTalk since I opened my FriendFeed profile .. but I still get an "offline" status from friendfeed@talk.friendfeed.com ..

I remember verifying the original message, so I figured the api wasn't turned on or something, but then I noticed you were making it work.

Did you encountered this?

Jim .. I'm with you on the need for specific business video posting / embedding service (you talked about this with Steve on Video Ninjas too) with intentions of a customizable branded player, flexibility regarding ad rev or not, distribution controls, uptimes, specific audiences, etc.

Do you find the Blip.tv pro account handles these requirements for you?

For me the most important thing is the embedded use on my sites with my own branding on the player.. not necessarily relying on them to max the eyeball count (although I'll take anything they can drive to me - but the private setting is also avail). I consider it my job to get the traffic from all the other sources and the embedded video is a close/call to action.

Are there other features for you that I'm not considering?

Thanks Shawn .. I'll look at them right now to compare features. Do you embed that watermark at the time of upload? .. I'm just doing it when prepping the video (not clickable though). It's possible that Blip discourages "serious" business content - which is what Jim is saying -- but haven't heard they don't like my content (did I say that out loud?)

Oh Boy .. ok, thanks for the heads up Shawn. Guess it goes back to the original topic of conversation ... I do believe there is a need for a business video service then, maybe Fliqz can capitalize on this need. All brands are going to be using the video communication medium for customers & employees even. Businesses should take their "About us" page and make an interesting video for it .... it needs to be easily uploaded, hosted and embedded by some service.

Yeah Mike that's a fact ...you know how else you can tell he's a great guy - by how many other musicians let him sit in on their sets! I'm out here at the Telluride Festival and he is scheduled for tomorrow, but he's already been with 4 other artists so far... We feel very fortunate he gave us a Baseballism.

Hi Beth ... That's an excellent guess, and we did consider that one! The game that we are doing IS a postseason game, but its from an earlier decade than the 2004 ALCS.

Way to go JBinATL!!! We started posting the scoreboards back on Opening Day and batter by batter we went through all the way up to today's final post at the All-Star break.

The game is one of the all time favorites if only for the great calls by the announcers .. Both Vin Scully and Jack Buck gave us call that last forever.

Gibson's home run off of Dennis Eckersley changed the course of that series as the A's were considered dominant favorites over the ragtag Dodgers. The beleagured A's never recovered!

See that!?! .. Now this is how you use these Social Media tools to monitor your brand and stay informed about the conversation that is taking place about you right now!!

I swear this is real ... this was not a plant where I contacted Kira to leave a comment so I could demonstrate how to use this powerful medium. Kira found this blog post that I made on her own. Not only has Kira demonstrated that she can use Twitter to effectively provide excellent customer service support, but she is probably using Google Alerts (subject for another post) to stay informed about any time that her keywords show up in a post.

Once again, hats off Kira .. great work.

Hey JB .. I know what you say! Looking back on all of those championship years, the number of (or lack of ) World Series rings seem to hang on a few simple unorthodox twists. Herbie's claim to fame of a forceful removal of Ron Gant from first base is one of the most memorable.

Others have to include Lonnie Smith's baserunning issues, Jim Leyritz's home run off Mark Wohlers, even more recent stuff like Joey Devine giving up a homerun in the 18th inning of the NLDS in Houston.

Tough call .. I almost voted for the '91 Series simply because of the amazing Game Seven battle between Smoltz and Jack Morris, plus the sheer amazement of the two teams involved.

But as you say, when you look at the rosters of the teams in '75. WOW!

Plus the series had some memorable moments beyond the Fisk hit.

1) Tiant's performance in Game One, including hitting and running the bases
2) My man Bill Lee pitching 8 amazing innings only to have the bullpen blow it
3) Game three - Bernie Carbo's first pinch hit home run of the series & Ed Armbrister/Larry Barnett catcher interference fiasco
4) Tiant again .. 163 pitches
5) Game Five - Perez two home runs
6) .. Game Six .. it's all be said
7) Eephus pitch .... Joe Morgan single

When a kid who was 12 years old at the time can recite a game by game list 33 years later .. you have a winner!

I am definitely rooting for Tweetdeck .. silos are the way to go, and I have many set up, ranging from Affiliate marketing to Wilco.

And if you've ever tried to participate in an online video conference that recommends using "hashtags" to follow a thread .. Tweetdeck easily handles it by the keyword, and the conversation can be followed all in one thread.
