The whole episode involves a bunch of adults having flashbacks to their early third grade (or to be charitable, middle fourth) years. It's sad to watch, because it's not helping anything.

The person whose page I saw it on first....is a Republican.

The people who then shared it from there...are Republicans (some of the Tea Party variety, but I know most of them to be members of their local units).

Were I attributing this to RPV, the title would be "Grow Up, RPV."

I really don't care who made it. What I care about is the fact that Republicans took it and ran with it.

A brief pause for intellectual honesty: if a Democrat had, after last year's Senate primary, made this exact same poster with E.W. Jackson at the top and George Allen at the bottom, what would your response have been?

Yeah, well....given the choice between TMac and the guy who sued the Obama Administration, I can guarantee you that many-if not most-African Americans will side with TMac.

Unless KC does something to counter his perception in the black community....

Here's the thing: Dave did a lot of good as far as GOP outreach to the black community in Virginia Beach. I'm not just saying that; I saw him actually do the work, and I heard the praise from those he worked with and spoke to. Of all the unit chairs I worked with on McDonnell's campaign, he was one of the most helpful and hardest working when it came to outreach. I can't take that away from him.

Do I personally think he's a racist? I don't know; I find it really hard to believe that someone who worked as hard-and sincerely- as he did could be. But it's possible.

Was the email racist? Unquestionably. Do I believe that he didn't actually read it? No.

I came out against him because the fact that he sent it on, in my mind, made him unfit to chair RPVB, and-with the campaign going on-was a unnecessary distraction to all our candidates.

1. None. I know the first six months or so is gonna be nothing but mudslinging. I think after the August recess, things will settle down.

2. Any sort of racism from anyone is uncalled for.

3. My candidate (Scott Rigell) won, which always helps. I was glad to see Allen West and Tim Scott win as well.

4. The GOP is going to focus on repealing healthcare...which, frankly, will not happen. Besides, repeal won't be necessary if (once?) the mandate is struck down, as the Obama Admin has already said it's the main provision that holds the bill together. I would focus on budget cuts for all departments (yes, even DoD) at 2-3% minimum.

5. I'm realistic.

Inability to raise money and an unwillingness to do/say what certain people expected killed my candidacy. Health problems (I have government healthcare now; y'all can have fun with that one!!) and the death of my dad proved that it was not my time. Frankly, I may not ever be a candidate...and today, that's fine. A few months ago, it had me in a very dark space.

6. Yes; coke and cherry mixed. :-)

A question though-if Rep. West (FL) led some sort of impeachment movement, is the reason still governing while black?

Yes; last night actually. He apologized to me, and I accepted that. A group of us here also joined in calling for him to go, and we talked about why that had to happen.

Ok, well...

I'm happy (duh), but a bit skeptical of what's actually going to happen. I think our majority in the House is going to get bogged down by picking the wrong fights (repeal of healthcare being among them). I don't expect for anyone to try to truly work together on anything until late next year, and even that will be short lived.

Last night was a good night...but the morning brings a lot more questions than answers for me.
