Just curious because I noticed comments you posted when I looked at the place stream around Jaywalkers a while back. At least, I think it was you because that account was linked to the same Twitter account as the Twitter account you link to on your web site.

I didn't know if you were an employee or just someone there to attend a seminar on security or what. All I remember about the comments were kvetching about having to listen to people who didn't know WTF they were talking about, or something like. The main reason that stuck with me is from listening to my husband kvetch about similar things when it comes to IT.

And today here I sit at my dad's laptop, trying to help my mom with her tech issues, and I find myself wanting to bang my head on the keyboard when I hear my parents reveal just how little they know about computers. *gah*

________________________________

Re: Bliggity Blog by Ingrid Michaelson - This is what happens when I am in a vocal booth...

Silly & fun! I'd drop 'em in a half-second. As @hci I follow tweeps who tweet useful things from conferences and then blog about 'em later. Otherwise I wouldn't be following 'em. I don't have time for useless twits. That's what I use @WichitaCindy for... ha ha ha!

Re: Honesty.

Interesting. I got a vibe from you Thanksgiving that you seemed kinda sad, and then you tweeted about missing your family in CA. I'm glad you chose to be open about your feelings. Let me know if I can do something to help, even if it's just staying away from you.

Re: A California Girl in Kansas

Aw... Max is so cute. You are so generous to be doing this for him. Taking in a rescued dog is not an easy thing to do. Besides all the work, you are sharing your heart which will surely break just a little when a new home for Max is found.

Re: Why telling Matt that I have a Twitter crush is a bad idea

The fun part about knowing you *have* a crush is razzing you about it!

My son has a million crushes, I swear. Well worth the 10 minutes. I know John Cleese offered to write speeches for Obama, and this speech is so funny, joke after joke, that I have to wonder who the expert comedians were that penned it. Barack Steve Obama certainly is a little too awesome. Thank goodness for his humility... ha ha ha!

Re: Palin-Couric interview (Scripting News)

Dave, have you seen the follow-up where McCain joins Palin to be interviewed by Katie Couric? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RywhPtebuM It's just as embarrassing.

Can you imagine two *male* candidates being all chummy, yucking it up during an interview? McCain = gramps. Palin = adorable daughter, daddy's little girl. For Katie Couric, interviewing Palin alone or McCain/Palin together makes "gotcha journalism" look like shooting fish in a barrel. Too easy.

Re: The Failephant

Ha! I hadn't been able to put my finger on these things, but now that you describe them, yes... that's what was really bothering me about Palin. "A person without curiosity" struck me since it reminds me of people I sometimes wish I could connect with but cannot; I had never noticed curiosity was the basic trait where disparity meant making a genuine connection impossible. Curiosity isn't enough, as you said, but even still we need someone who can quickly connect the dots, acquire the knowledge, and make appropriate decisions with confidence.
