Let the drunks have paid time off to get dry or let the addicts have a warm place to needle up or nod out but when it comes to those filthy smokers let them get pneumonia even though they pay more in taxes because of their habit than any other citizen

governments would be lost without those tax dollars.

You're right, of course, but as a smoker myself, we're perpetually harassed, frowned upon, castigated, kicked out into the cold and vilified for engaging in a legal activity with a legal product. Even full-blown alcoholics and drug users aren't treated as poorly, in my experience. It does feel a bit good to see it go the other way once in a while.

Hey, even *I* would buy some Mac hardware...as soon as I get that 150% raise. That stuff's expensive, but I get the idea that you're paying for more than the equipment, you're paying for the bragging right to being part of the "mac community". ;)

Yes, getting rid of disruptive workers is discrimination, if their only disruptiveness stems from them wanting to live without tobacco.

The three people that smoke in my workplace (the other 15 don't) are very disruptive, not to mention they smell bad. I think I'll fire them all, and only hire non-smokers from now on.

It doesn't matter how you look at it, this is only discrimination, whichever way it's done. In Iceland, btw, this company would simply be closed down if they continued smoking against the non-smokers wishes.

And no, they were not fired for smoking.. they were fired for not smoking.. but there, of course, I'm picking on you because I know what you meant :D

They weren't actually fired, persay, for smoking, they were fire for being "trouble-makers".

Now, saying he's not going to hire non-smokers, that could be discrimination, but I don't know much about protected classes and civil rights laws in Germany. :)

Thanks for the shouts, Joe and Gorgeous, I'm still trying to establish a schedule for the reviews. The "series" reviews generally end up being further apart than I'd like. One I figure out how to juggle full-time job, kids, home repairs, and the needs of my lovely wife, they should even out:)

IMO, they should stick to original music rather than 'converting' known tunes to fingerstyle. I like the sounds, but have rarely liked 'redone' songs of any kind.
