I was really glad to read this letter because I truly feel Coach Tom Crean is surrounding himself with a similar group of people that want the very best for Indiana athletics.

Also, I support Bob in his choice not to come back because the media would draw away from other's accomplishments. I would not want to see Jerry Yeagley's honoring be distracted. There will be a time and a place.

Re: Indiana struggles early, rolls past Grace in second half

I paid for the game...I've been waiting for it for a year now....anyway....I really really liked Jordan Hulls the kids basketball IQ is awesome. He moves without the ball great. The most impresive player of the night considering. Watford did struggle early....he missed some bunnies....but this kid could explode with a little confidence. Creek was quiet and has been everytime I've seen him play. I don't look for it to stay like that. I think with Creek running on all cylinders Indiana could be a force. Pritchard needs to make his easy shots...come on man this is D 1 ball. I have faith in the guy but free throws and easy shots have to be made for us to win against tuffer opponents. Verdell is picking up where he left off. I didn'tknow what to think about him last year but he is a solid gaurd. Eltson showed some signs of potential....but not when he tried to do things out of his game at this level. Bobby C. was quiet...didn't expect that. I'm sure he will get in the groove and that could get interesting. Rivers showed some signs of greatness. All in all.....nice to seem the team get together and finish

Re: Purdue AD apparently measures success by conference titles

I've lived fairly close to Lafayette and I have had to deal with these idiots my whole life. I hate purdue fans. They are the most fair weather fans in the nation. When they won three big ten championships in a row everyone was the biggest purdue fan that could ever be. Then after they had a bad season they put the purdue shorts and shirts back in the closet. Most of these people don't even know they don't have an NCAA national championship in anything other than women's basketball. Now with purdue ranked in the top ten I'm positive they will sliver out from underneath the rocks they have been hiding under the last ten years to celebrate their beloved boilers. Once this class leaves purdue will be back down in the crapper.

Re: Report: Indiana secures official visit from Josh Selby

coaching staff spotted giving kendrick a tour of campus today

Re: Report: Indiana secures official visit from Josh Selby

I guess I'm just old school and like the way they look. I like the 4.0 gpa that is impressive. I hate to say anything negative about Williams, but Sheehey replaced Williams I would be a little more comfortable with the move. We kind of give him a bad wrap for his stint at IOWA! but really had Alford gone straight to Indiana and not to Iowa it would of made a huge difference in the way his career played out. I mean Steve Alford's name means something in Indiana, but not so much elsewhere. He couldn't really take the IU job when Knight was fired. It was the whole respect for Knight thing mostly I think, but still there isn't really much respect to change coaching jobs in the same conference either. Plus there were big shoes to fill and the pressure would of been emense. I think had Knight retired the winningest NCAA div 1 coach ever at Indiana and things were good.....I really think Alford would have took the job and I think he would of done far better at Indiana then he did at Iowa. All in all, it means nothing though. Tom Crean is our coach. He respects the traditions at IU. He will get kids that aren't embarrassing to the program or university. He respects his job and we should all fully support him. The guy has energy and a never give up attitude those are both things we needed desperately with the mess we were in. Lets get behind our coach and our program.

Re: Report: Indiana offers 2010 Florida guard Will Sheehey

didn't mean to say i'm not glad we have eltson I meant to say I was glad we have him sorry for the confusion!!!

Re: Report: Indiana offers 2010 Florida guard Will Sheehey

I keep forgetting about Etherington. I'm sorry for that, but matt is from Arizona. I guess you could say he did hold on to Elston, but he really isn't a true Crean recruit. (Not that I'm not glad we have him either!). I guess what I'm saying is really is that d. williams is from florida and kind of off the raday...sheehey is from florida...and oladiapo is from Maryland. We have davis, zeller, patterson, ect. right here in Indiana. We need to connect on these home state recruits because not only do they have more of a sense of what is Indiana Basketball, but they are flat out great players! Other teams are winning championships with our kids!!!! Could you imagine if we would of had Oden, Conley, Randolf, Gardner, May, ect....You guys know the list as well as I do. If we were to sign these kids Indiana would have more championships in the last 15 years. The thing is.....is that these kids in this state are still going to go to college and win championships...and I would like to see them won at IU by Indiana kids!

Re: Report: Indiana offers 2010 Florida guard Will Sheehey

I haven't herd this name before and I have been looking up arcticles about Sheehey on the internent. Some list him as a gaurd at 6'5 others a small forward at 6'6. I'm sure the kid can play ball or else we wouldn't be recruiting him. I just feel we may be getting a little to hasty in dishing out scholarships. I could see it last year but Crean has a solid group of freshman now and things are going to get better. I think we have well rounded depth in the back court and would rather see the scholarship go to a kid that can just flat out do it all. I think that is the finishing piece to our puzzle. Well that and time to mature. Now I wasn't sure about Oladipo at first, but after I saw him play on youtube I really think he has some great abiltiy to attack the rim. He is ranked 133 but could probably just as easily be ranked 75. I really liked what I saw with him, but we should of stopped there with the 3 star players. I don't even know where David Williams came from. If he isn't starting for his AAU team that doesn't sound to good to me. Indiana hasn't been able to keep in state talent. Crean addressed this when he was hired but other than Hulls we haven't seen any signatures from in state kids yet. I really feel this recruiting class will make a good enough stride to land a 4 or 5 star big man and a 4 or 5 gaurd and that is what we need. I guess what I'm saying is that IU needs to let the program develop this year and it may catch the eyes of more talented prospects. In today's game its easier to rebound from what happened to IU because most great players leave after 2 years. I would just like to see IU go after some more talented prospects, if we continue to recruit mediocore recruits we will continue to be a mediocore program.

Re: A little bit of everything at Hoosier Hysteria

I was at hoosier hysteria also. I was very impressed by Bobby C's Shooting ability for his size. I really like this kid and feel he will be more of a player than we all anticipated him to be. Roth can stroke it. I was very impressed. Tom Crean was in his head for several of his first shots but still managed to hit 21 threes in one segment of the 3 point contest. Hulls shot is ugly but somehow finds a way to connect. He didn't complete many fancy passes but showed that he has the ability to be the best passer in hoosier history. Tijian and Bawa were very entertaining. I think they may have problems understanding english wich may hurt Bawa's development, but if they can get him power dunks down low with out dribbling he could be a threat. Watford and Creek didn't do a whole lot really, but I honestly believe there nerves kicked in once they saw 13,000 people in the stands. Those 13000 people were somewhat quiet. I was kind of disappointed with that. If we are going to make the effort to get there and be a part of IU basketball we need to show the team and the recruits that we are very much involved in supporting our program. Rivers was impressive. He wasn't even 100% but I think he is going to be huge in reviving the program. Although regarded for his defense, I think you will see an offensive show case from him this year. Overall it was mostly just fun. I don't think anyone was out there playing 100%. Even though Mo Creek didn't do much, you could almost tell by his movements that he was going to be a go to guy. Verdell and Pritchard were pretty quiet also. It will be very interesting to see how this team gels togethers in the early games. I would agree that they may be in contention for an NIT bid. Also, I'm not a big fan of a three gaurd lineup but it may not be a bad option for IU this year.
PG: Rivers
SG: Dumes
SF: Verdell
PF: Watford
C: Pritchard

team two or first reserves
PG: Hulls
SG: Roth
SF: Eltson
PF: Capo
C: Bawa

Re: This should make you go to Hoosier Hysteria

Any predictions for this year? I've been an IU fan from the get go and a Bob Knight fan just as long. Coach Knight did a lot for Indiana and the fans. I'm one of them. I don't care if you like him or not. If your an Indiana fan, you should be a fan of Bob Knight. He is Indiana. Look at what happened to IU after he left. It is just now starting to turn around. This guy had no loosing seasons as the coach for the Hoosier. He won most of the championship we brag about to this day. I didn't fire Bob Knight. The fans didn't fire Bob Knight. In fact, anyone who was involved with firing Bob Knight is probably not even around anymore or have gotten fired themselves. This is about bringing home our coach, not only to honor him but as a way of making things right with him. Coach Knight please come back and celebrate all of your accomplishments at Indiana with all of your fans.
