I guess I feel :

1) TC and staff have the IN recruiting process underway and under control. My evidence is Elston, Hulls, Etherington , Carlino transfer to IN etc.

2) I doubt Teague has the "pull" to make anything more than a marginal difference in the long term recruiting within IN let alone nationally

3) I also expect him to recruit the midwest like Ohio( TP, Capo ), KY, IL( VJ3) heavily and successfully with equally good poster boys for the program

4) to be a perennial national power however I think requires a NY and Baltimore area success and KI begins that in NY after lsoing Ebanks last year. It will help to play PITT in MSG this year

I can see nice PR pieces built around KI choosing to go to the IN heartland and become a national star , far from his metro / media roots.

Re: Could Rick Pitino’s indiscretions put Marquis Teague back into play?

Jerry,

I agree that in this case I would rather have KI than teague, but in general wouldn't you rather have an Indiana kid over an East coast kid. I get your point about recruiting, but we always get so bent out of shape when the best players in the state go out of state. With that said, I am not that excited about teague. I know he is good, but he doesn't seem that focused or excited about playing for IU.

Re: Around the Hall: Indiana @ Penn State

The officiating definitely didn't do us any favors down the stretch. We need to just relax and enjoy some of the cool moments of this season, such as Santa playing last night. I was happy for him.

Re: Hoosiers miss 13 free throws — and lose by 13

It killed me every time that Verdell got stripped from behind when he was bringing it up the floor. I thought for sure it was going to happen again to Story, but then he took it coast to coast.

Re: St. Patrick’s Kyrie Irving on ESPN2 tonight

EJ did have a nice game. He still had a few of his patented moves where he drives in with no where to do and loses the ball, but overall he looked good. He actually shot a nice mid range jump shot off of a screen. That would have been nice to see last year, but Kelvin didn't actually "coach" EJ, so what can you expect.

Re: Proof that Tom Crean’s human: Audible frustration

Did ESPN show any highlights of the Duke UNC game? I didn't notice......
Actually, it was ridiculous how last night and still this morning I couldn't find anything on any of the ESPN networks except coverage of that game. Do they really think that people want to just keep talking about that game for hours and hours. Give me the score and move on.....It is kind of like Super Bowl week when your team is not in the game. Too much coverage.

Re: Good, Bad and Ugly: Minnesota

Yes, Jobe is on scholarship.

Re: Good, Bad and Ugly: Minnesota

First of all, am I the only one who enjoys watching this team a heck of a lot more than last year's team. I used to get so pissed at the team last year because they just seemed selfish and lazy. (other than DJ) I am having fun watching this team now that they are competing, even though they dribble it off of their feet every other possession.

Also, is Jobe on scholarship? He is, isn't he? If so, he should be the one that is gone next year. I like Story, he just needs to work on his handles.

Re: The Morning After: Staying positive

That was crazy. The good thing about this is, EJ is Ej, given all the spotlight he has had for years, he is still the soft spoken quite kid who hates interviews and just wants to play the game. I don't think he will ever be anything different so don't expect the pepsi or nike commercials.........

Re: Eric Gordon on Rome is Burning

It's funny you'd say that. I actually thought that he did a little better in this interview than he has in some past interviews. I get nervous for him whenever he is interviewed. In a way, I like that about him. He is humble. But you are right, he just needs to relax and enjoy the interview. There are many more to come.

Re: Open thread: Friday the 13th in Seattle

Re: Open thread: Friday the 13th in Seattle

That is exactly why the Indiana team barely one.
