I really enjoy Jeffrey Combs and his delivery is no non-sense and no whimps certified! I have always walked away with plenty of notes and a better understanding of what holds people back and how to help them break through.

Looking forward to hearing this and again thank you for making it possible.

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk Interview: “Stop Watching and Go Hustle!”

Hey James,

You know the first time I ever had a chance to speak with Gary was on your radio show. Remember that? Months back. I have been following him for a long time and really taken to heart the things he has taught me. I appreciate all you do and the complement. What was the biggest surprise?

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk Interview: “Stop Watching and Go Hustle!”

Bradley -

Awesome job my friend! I know how BIG this was for you and I think you have lived up to the opportunity to bring Gary Vee to your readers and viewers. A couple of suprises in this interview ... a couple of things I haven't heard Gary say before.

I recommend viewing this video!

James

Re: Win 10 Google Wave Invites

Marc - I posted a little article about your "pay it forward" give away along with an excellent video on Wave from Google on my blog. Here is the link to the post: http://askjamesholmes.com/toolsandtips/i-want-t...

I had not heard of Google Wave prior to reading this post last week. After doing some research and especially after seeing the demonstration of some of the many applications on the video, I would love to be a recipient of one of your invites. I believe that I can put this into immediate use in my business and use it in collaboration with members of my online community like yourself.

I also think that should Wave prove to be as good a tool as I anticipate, I can get the word out through my blog and podcast and pay your gift forward....pretty cool!

Have a blessed day!

James

P.S. As so often is the case with legislation, how is this going to be enforced (man power and budget) and what are the unintended consequences?

It seems a bit of a challenging year for affiliate marketers with the State sales tax issues (in selected states) and the new endorsement rules as discussed, the landscape has certainly changed. My advice is to recognize that the sky is not falling; however, I become concerned by any threat to free markets and entrepreneurship in principle.

Excellent post!

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: Remembering 9/11 Through Social Media

Great post and sobering to think what it would have been like if Twitter would have existed on 9/11 eight years ago. I think of all of the "heard it first on Twitter" moments from the death of Michael Jackson to events during the Presidential election, Twitter often trumped the mainstream news media. I often know what my fiends are doing in the moment, in real time.

In some ways I have to say I am glad it wasn't, but then I think about families of those lost and perhaps an opportunity for the victims to send a quick note to a loved one.

Thank you for causing me to think about the relevance of social media on a day like today.

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: How I Grow My Blog Organically Using These 5 Tips

Michel -

Great tips and I love #4 integrating the autoresponder! Never thought of that and I think the idea of NOT dating your post allows you to seamlessly go back and update or rewrite and then when the recipient on your email update visits the post it doesn't feel stale to them, i.e., you have routed them to an "old"posting. It is a perception issue.

These are actionable tips that many of which will pay off big over time if one does them with consistency, there is a cumulative effect that will be measured over time.

Thank you!

James

Re: TWEET IDEAS: 13 Things to Do on Twitter Besides Tweet

Thanks for the tips, looks like I could use a few of these helpful tools.

Re: TWEET IDEAS: 13 Things to Do on Twitter Besides Tweet

Hey Barb - Very nice series of recommendation. I think that the power of Twitter is largely untapped by the masses and I know there is so much more I can be doing with this resource. You have offered a few nuggets that have inspired a thought or two. Thank you as always for you ideas and perspective.

Let's see if I can put one or two if them to good use and further build my brand, reach, and serve a broader audience in the process.

Thank you!

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: The “Marketing Funnel” Business Model Sucks

Thanks for your comments James! Of course, part of the "funnel sucks" idea is a title to draw interest (I have a whole series of these videos, and the "sucks" idea is always an oversimplification).

In my coaching/consulting business, I do have principles of this model -- offering free opt-in's, lower priced items (info products, classes), and then high priced programs (classes, one-on-one). But the difference is a philosophical difference between many of the "funnel" teachings & what I'm advocating here.

And, as one of the commenters on twitter said, the metaphor is not the best in the world ... a funnel seem to say that people fall out of the bottom! ;)

Re: The “Marketing Funnel” Business Model Sucks

Hello Elizabeth - This is my first visit to your blog and I really enjoyed your video. I love what you said about building community - it is exactly what I do with everyone I work with and those who are engaged in my online business model. A big idea regardless of the model that is used to execute it is the key to everything, and I believe that as the internet continues to evolved people feel the need to connect with others in a more personal way, so that it is not just about the technology.

Although catchy, I am not in agreement with the premise set by your post title. The reason is that it assumes that a conscious entrepreneur who forms a tribe and creates tremendous value for his or her associates cannot add value within the "marketing funnel." Whether you call it a matrix, blueprint, formula, or funnel, it is all the same process drawn out on paper a different way. What matters is the concepts, principles and intent of the creator of the model itself. To create results any business model must attract prospects, deliver value, build trust, identify a need, solve a problem, or provide an opportunity.

I spent some time visiting your other sites and your work is awesome and I respect your message. I just wanted to offer my thoughts and share another perspective for consideration.

Have a blessed day and thank you for this post!

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: Mashable’s Twitter Guide Book Now Available for Download

Sharon - What a tremendous resource and I love the method you have used to roll this out free for instant download. I am glad to see that Twitter is going to invest some resources improving their home page. If I had to rely on the present site (I use Tweet Deck) I wouldn't be there very often because it is impossible to follow the people you are most interested in following.

There are a couple of management programs I recommend Tweet Deck and Seesmic - it will be interesting to see if Twitter can top the usefulness of these applications. Thank you for the info!

James
http://twitter.com/askjamesholmes

Re: PayPal X: Prepare for the New PayPal

Ben - This is very interesting. When look look at the results (and benefits) for the user of platforms like Firefox, Twitter, i-Phones, and others opening up to to new API is a big win for consumers of these products and services. As a competitive business strategy it is a winner because it is a game changer and a deft move for Pay Pal. I have personally have always had great experiences with Pay Pal, but I have heard a few stories which has opened the door for the competitors your reference here.

Thank you for the excellent post!

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: NMPRO #96 – Money Money Money

Eric -

This is great advice for all Entrepreneurs! I think for the majority of new affiliate marketers is this type of knowledge that will help them break through. I recognize that Google has their eyes focused squarely on affiliate weak sites and redirects that do not add value to the readers experience. The content provided here and in several of these links will help affiliates improve the relevance and value of their sites.

Beyond that you have provided some tremendous resources. Thank you for this excellent work!

James
http://twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

Re: HOW TO: Get Retweeted on Twitter

Interesting data but not at all surprising. Another way of looking at what gets retweet is what provides value. Stating neutral opinions or talking about how long the line is at Starbucks is not adding value to the community. Sharing a link to a resource, interesting blog post, or event of interest, actually adds value and causes others to want to share.

The BIG opportunity with Twitter is not in building ten of thousands of followers with no message or mission of value to share. It is in growing a responsive following who is drawn to you based on the value you present. This has an unbreakable connection to what you tweet and if it is retweeted.

Pete, as always, I appreciate the content of your amazing blog and post.

James
http://Twitter.com/AskJamesHolmes

P.S.
