Those two videos are great, but more importantly they showcase the product. How the heck does a crater relate to telecommunications? If anything, it seems to paint a bad picture, "our service is like a giant hole in the ground, your stuff will get lost!"

I don't even think they're overpriced for what they claim to offer. They are overpriced for what they actually offer, but if their network didn't suck the prices are on par with the rest of the industry (the $20 unlimited internet was incredible for the time).

I think most people haven't switched because they wanted an iPhone and are now stuck. Luckily for me, my contract ran out recently and now I'm free! I'm still on an iPhone, waiting to see if Droid lives up to the hype. If it does, I'm switched. If it doesn't I'm just going cell-phone less for a while.

P.S. Check back in tomorrow for a post about how I get a monthly partial refund on my AT&T bill.

Agreed. It's a bit ridiculous that you have to pay for the right to develop and publish apps for it, and then Apple can still reject your app for no good reason.

Now that the Android platform is past its initial stages, it's going to become a very exciting place for developers and consumers.

Better than reams of paper, old college textbooks. Sturdier and no longer necessary (never know when you'll run out of paper and boom, there goes your monitor stand).

By old and antiquated does Scoble mean that RSS is reliable, established, and doesn't crash 15 times a day? If so, I agree!

I use both, but they're both two different techs with two different goals. I use twitter to talk to people and share info, I use RSS to find and learn info.

Short/long philosophical/realistic doesn't quite matter as much as the delivery. If it's coherent and informative to someone, it's a W, if not, it'll get ignored and eventually that writer will figure out to tweak the content.

Thanks for the shout-out Stu, and thanks to everyone for digging the new design. :-) Think it went so well because Stuart and I say eye to eye on many aspects and also weren't scared to disagree and offer up alternatives.

That and Stuart had a great vision for the new look, one that really emphasize the agency and put the focus on making The Lost Jacket's services and content easy to find, navigate and read.

Keep grinding TLJ!

Unless you're quoting a tweet I sent or writing about something involving Twitter or some other silo, link to my web-site.

a) My web-site has links to my other contact places, allowing the visitor to choose how to contact me.

b) Twitter may disappear tomorrow.

c) Twitter doesn't always work.

d) Linking to Twitter gives Twitter SEO boost, linking to my site gives it to me. :-)

I asked a similar question on Twitter last week, what was more valuable a RT, a G Reader share or a link. Overwhelming response was a link. It's persistent and it puts the ball in my court, not someone else's.

Unless you're writing about someone's social media profile, link to the site.

Nice idea. Am a big fan of forming a community inside/around a company, and here you basically create a community of entrepreneurs to act as the company.

We've got a similar plan in the works for The 42nd Estate, but instead of entrepreneurs, we'll have mostly freelancers. We'll in essence act as a clearing house and a one stop shop.

Something to consider is using freelancers in your model. Having just a team of entrepreneurs can lead to too many leaders trying to re-invent the wheel without anyone actually creating that new wheel. Plus, it would help with crisis mode if you had a batch of people ready and willing to jump in.

Think your #1 problem here is something Jun mentioned, if you have a bunch of CEOs come in, they might not want to do some of the grunt work involved with being a part of an agency rather than leading one on their own. Like the model, love to see version 2.0 of it.

Ever since moving my blog over to a single column wider format, I've been posting Vimeo videos like a madman. Saw this video earlier and loved it. Some of the animation people over at Vimeo are pure geniuses.

Reddit is the answer. Used to use Digg a lot, then gave up on it. With Reddit there's a good community and sub-reddits let you filter out noise (to a certain extent). And oddly enough, Reddit is owned by a corporation while Digg is not.
