It's an option for those that do WANT it, as there is no actual NEED for it. If you actually use the N900 you'll see the handset has been optimized for finger use. Nokia can't control the internet - they don't have control of who puts tiny hyper-links and not.

Try zooming in and hitting the hyper-link next time? Just a thought.

Re: Underwhelmed by Pre launch buzz

Dun dun dun, @adonisdemon in 'not clicking through' shocker...

Caption: "This is what sarcasm looks like kids..."

;))

Re: Underwhelmed by Pre launch buzz

I'm not sure if Jonathan Morris is listening to the same people that were spreading the rumours of the Palm Pre winning Gadget of the Year, but I'll put a bet on there no more than 10 people in that "huge" queue - and 9 of them waiting to buy an iPhone.

Re: Hello to the 560 users of Comes With Music in Switzerland

I said it from day one, this is never going to work. The problem is Nokia is NOW trying to profit and be successful with an outdated model of music distribution. Apple has been doing this for years and owns the market, Nokia needs to try something new and stop banging on the old barn door.

Stick to what you do best Nokia - make N900s! :D

Re: Nokia N920 – Keyboardless Successor to the N900

the N920 hasn't been announced and that picture cannot be taken as a valid leak. The device is pictured running Maemo 4, this all seems a bit suspicious to me.

Also there are hints that the N900 will be able to upgrade to Maemo 6. Once the N900 is released I suspect the hype will start to accelerate once again. This is the best handset Nokia will be releasing for a while, but obviously they will be planning ahead for future models. That doesn't mean we should wait for the next device every time, otherwise we would be waiting and never purchasing anything.

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Palm Pre wins ‘Gadget of the year’

With the presence of Palm (with 3 tables) one would assume they had won a category which they had competition in? To be honest at this price point it is too slow though.

That aside there's it's all stock Android faire... No complaints, but no additional apps or tweaks as with HTC or Moto. My preference is for a hardware QWERTY keyboard as I'm not a fan of Androids, but if you liked it on the Magic it will feel the same on the Galaxy.

Re: Samsung Galaxy i7500: First look & unboxing

Battery issues and camera aside, how does the handset perform on a daily task handling basis? Nokia deserves some credit, and probably some praise from the same bloggers who bashed them for putting out such devices (I put my hand up).

Since the Original N95 and it's battery problems, which seem to have been solved with firmware tweaks, Nokia has done a solid job on providing adequate battery life with their handsets on the majority of devices put to market.

Re: Samsung Galaxy i7500: First look & unboxing

I've never thought Nokia's devices were generally bad with battery... there's been a few howlers, but generally it's good.

And although I've not had hands-on (Mr Whatley has tho'... remind me to beat him up for a first-look post) I thought the Satio's problem was the low capacity of the battery it ships with?

Re: Samsung Galaxy i7500: First look & unboxing

Was really looking forward to this device, shame it's so far turned out to be underwhelming! Not sure how Samsung can eat out a whole 1500mAh battery without heavy usage. If we thought Nokia's devices were bad, this is pretty epic.

Seems to be similar stories with Sony Ericsson's Satio also, perhaps Nokia aren't to blame as much as we like to put on them?

Re: Looking at the Nokia Booklet 3G with an N900

Unsurprisingly underperformed. The difference between the sensitivity of touch between the N97 and N900 is astounding. How can 2 devices based on the same tech be that different in responsiveness? The worst thing is, the released handset comes up 2nd best!

The N900 is going to be a heck of a handset IMO.

Re: BREAKING: INQ to launch Android handsets

Good move.
