It's an option for those that do WANT it, as there is no actual NEED for it. If you actually use the N900 you'll see the handset has been optimized for finger use. Nokia can't control the internet - they don't have control of who puts tiny hyper-links and not.

Try zooming in and hitting the hyper-link next time? Just a thought.

Re: Underwhelmed by Pre launch buzz

I'm not sure if Jonathan Morris is listening to the same people that were spreading the rumours of the Palm Pre winning Gadget of the Year, but I'll put a bet on there no more than 10 people in that "huge" queue - and 9 of them waiting to buy an iPhone.

Re: Hello to the 560 users of Comes With Music in Switzerland

I said it from day one, this is never going to work. The problem is Nokia is NOW trying to profit and be successful with an outdated model of music distribution. Apple has been doing this for years and owns the market, Nokia needs to try something new and stop banging on the old barn door.

Stick to what you do best Nokia - make N900s! :D

Re: Nokia N920 – Keyboardless Successor to the N900

the N920 hasn't been announced and that picture cannot be taken as a valid leak. The device is pictured running Maemo 4, this all seems a bit suspicious to me.

Also there are hints that the N900 will be able to upgrade to Maemo 6. Once the N900 is released I suspect the hype will start to accelerate once again. This is the best handset Nokia will be releasing for a while, but obviously they will be planning ahead for future models. That doesn't mean we should wait for the next device every time, otherwise we would be waiting and never purchasing anything.

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Palm Pre wins ‘Gadget of the year’

With the presence of Palm (with 3 tables) one would assume they had won a category which they had competition in? Nokia deserves some credit, and probably some praise from the same bloggers who bashed them for putting out such devices (I put my hand up).

Since the Original N95 and it's battery problems, which seem to have been solved with firmware tweaks, Nokia has done a solid job on providing adequate battery life with their handsets on the majority of devices put to market.

Re: Samsung Galaxy i7500: First look & unboxing

Was really looking forward to this device, shame it's so far turned out to be underwhelming! Not sure how Samsung can eat out a whole 1500mAh battery without heavy usage. If we thought Nokia's devices were bad, this is pretty epic.

Seems to be similar stories with Sony Ericsson's Satio also, perhaps Nokia aren't to blame as much as we like to put on them?

Re: Looking at the Nokia Booklet 3G with an N900

Unsurprisingly underperformed. The difference between the sensitivity of touch between the N97 and N900 is astounding. How can 2 devices based on the same tech be that different in responsiveness? Can notice some jitter / loss of frames, not sure whether it's your arm or the handset itself. 30fps would have been pretty decent for this handset, but 24fps looks OK. Any chance taking video using a tripod /stand to make sure there aren't frames dropped.

Video looks crisp and detailed - I'm impressed (did I mention that already)

Re: Is the 13″ MacBookPro a Shot at Netbooks?

Honestly, this one probably has hit the sweet spot - albeit the price is a bit high. It fits nicely into the market for those looking for a powerful MacbookPro but do not want a big 15" or 17", it's small and powerful enough to be the main laptop and go anywhere and everywhere.
Clean and powerful desktop at home and away from it.

Re: STOP PRESS: ShoZu to start charging!

I guess I'm the ones that fall into the not having installed Shozu on my handset. Honestly I've tried many times over, if it's not their website being down or the app freezing I've had no joy. Being an avid Flickr user Share Online does the job perfectly, and now with Pixelpipes integrated, sharing my photos to multiple services is a piece of cake.

Would have liked to give Shozu another go, did try a few days ago honestly, could not setup Flickr account! Gave up and now it's payware - I'll stick with Pixelpipes.

Re: The HTC Magic; 3 steps from perfect

Great review Whatley!

Have to agree with you on most parts, I presume we have similar day to day routines and needs for certain features on handsets. The lack of physical keyboard is one of the major reason's why I'm still stuck with my original N95. I'm hoping more devices will be coming with physical keyboard. As good looking as the Magic is, it's just not going to cut it to replace my trusty N95 quite yet.

One thing that will always play on my mind is the Operator's having control over what is released and when (firmware included), T-Mobile's lack of Latitude support is just an example.

Re: Does your mobile speak volumes about who you are?

Features, form and functionality go hand in hand with me. It's a delicate balance between those 3. Most people buy a handset for one reason; camera, looks, screen. That's normal, but it's slowly starting to change with more users becoming aware of the functions of the phone as well as looks, and features.

Re: Higashi no Eden

Not sure what you meant about the trailer?
