And in that information, it seems that Shaun and Carly had a relationship again. So that was a good spoiler. For me that wasn't a "spoiler." It was a refresher. The information for this episode is consistent with the preview,i.e., Shaun is questioning his relationship with Carly after his intimacy with Lea. So at this point, it looks like Carly is out. But by next week, it looks more like Carly is back.

Re: Chicago PD - Episode 7.12 - The Devil You Know - Press Release

I see it. The writers really left us hanging. It seems to be the practice of most shows to have cliff hangers at season or semi season ends to get people back after the break. I dislike that in general, but I really hated it this time for this show. The show was going in one direction all season with Shaun and Carly building a relationship. Then that all seemed to blow up with the last episode and previews of the next. Then we have to wait over a month to see what was going on for sure. So thanks for giving us a sneak peek.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

Lately, Catholics are just about always portrayed unfavorably on television. Years ago there were shows about kindly priests and good nuns like The Bells of St Mary's. True the clergy sex abuse scandal has made the Catholic Church look bad, and has contributed to this. But as bad as that was, it involved at the most 5% of priests, meaning 95% were good. Yet on television 100% of material about the Catholic Church is bad.

American television wouldn't dare portray the Jewish or Muslim religion as unfavorably as it portrays the Catholic religion.

Having said that, I don't think the parts in the show to which Mr Donahue objects were that bad. Back in the '70's the attitudes Roma experienced from her large Catholic family about lesbianism and about working outside the home and about having large families whether the mother really wanted to or not definitely existed. It's not surprising that she would have faced such attitudes.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

I read that the ratings for this production were not good. Therefore, according to the ratings, it is not true that 75% of the population is watching the show.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

I am also a Catholic, and I am posting after Miguel G. I have never heard of "Catholic logic" either, but I have found the Catholic Church to be more reliant on reason and less reliant on emotion than other churches such as evangelical churches. For someone who is unfamiliar with Catholic teaching, theology, and dogma some teachings may be difficult to understand. That is why education in the Catholic faith is necessary for Catholics. In recent years, that hasn't been done as much as in earlier years. That would explain the problems with former Catholics who weren't properly catechised in their faith and didn't properly understand it.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

The clergy sex scandal has really made the Catholic Church look bad. After that, I think some people look at the Catholic Church as something bad and deserving of every kind of criticism. But even before that, there was a lot of prejudice against Catholics. It was a big deal when Kennedy was elected President despite being Catholic.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

Arnold, I don't get your drift.

Re: ABC Mocks Catholics in ‘When We Rise’ Miniseries

At first I thought the woman in the unusual dress was a nun, but in the next scene, I changed my mind. The important thing is that both groups believe that Christ is actually present in the Eucharist. They don't believe that the Eucharist is just a symbol of the body and blood of Christ as many other Protestant denominations believe. Neither Jesus nor his apostles went into a philosophical explanation of how Christ is present in the Eucharist. That came later as Church scholars began to study the philosophy of Plato and Aristotle. Thomas Aquinas explained it by transubstantiation. Luther did so by consubstantiation.

Since I am a Roman Catholic, I favor transubstantiation because that is what I learned, and it is more straightforward and easier to understand. But I don't see a big difference with consubstantiation. Either way, we believe we are receiving the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, and that's what is important.

Re: D’Marco Farr Announces He’s Leaving 101ESPN

Good bye DeMarco. I enjoyed your play with the Rams, your broadcasts of Rams games, and especially your participation on the Fast Lane. There are some women who breastfeed who get carried away with the cause, IMO. This is one such woman. She obsesses over breast milk and has planned her vacation around it. The woman is nuts.

Re: Terrible Outcome After Airline Forces Mother to Send Breast Milk to Checked Baggage

I definitely agree with notyoursockpuppet. It was a crazy idea for this woman to cart breast milk all over Italy.. She was asking for bacterial infection. It was probably fortunate that the airline mishap occurred. That most likely kept her baby from getting sick. This woman sounds like a nut, and her husband is just as bad for going along with her on this stupid idea. She should have dumped the breast milk after pumping and used formula as she has in fact done thanks to the airline. And if that wasn't acceptable, she should have stayed home until she was no longer breastfeeding.

Re: With Johnson tagged, Rams must let Jenkins walk

Absolutely.

Re: With Johnson tagged, Rams must let Jenkins walk

Are they any better than Sean Mannion?

Re: Lawmaker opposition casts doubt on new St. Louis stadium

It's looking more and more as if that is soon to be reality.

Re: Lawmaker opposition casts doubt on new St. Louis stadium

The owner of the Rams, Stan Kroenke, is willing to pay for a new stadium IN LOS ANGELES.The only way St. Louis can keep an NFL team is to build a new stadium, Then MAYBE the NFL will allow the team to remain in St. Louis.Without the stadium financed by public money there is NO POSSIBILITY of an NFL team in St Louis. We would have a comfortable, indoor stadium, with the upgrades of the newest stadiums for 70% of the cost of the new cold open air stadium. And since this wouldn't be a new stadium, we wouldn't be faced with the legal problem of getting voters' approval. The lease would continue and the whole issue of Kroenke moving to L.A. would never have come up. We played right into Kroenke's greedy hands. That would have been a win, win, win for us.

Instead, by passing up that option we are facing the prospect of Kroenke moving to L.A. just as we had to deal with Bidwill moving to Arizona because civic leaders refused Bidwill's reasonable request for a new stadium. They didn't anticipate Bidwill's moving, and they didn't anticipate Kroenke's moving. Bidwill did, and Kroenke will if the stadium issue has to go to the voters for approval.

Re: Take A Virtual Tour Of The New St. Louis Rams Stadium

I would like to see a roof on the stadium. As the article says, those November and December games will be pretty cold. I just don't see how that's an improvement over the Jones Dome. If we are going to all the trouble of building a new stadium and spending almost $1billion doing so, spend another $100 million or so and put a translucent glass roof on the stadium like the new Vikings stadium in Minneapolis.

But, nevertheless, I hope the stadium is built. I hope stadium planners can get around the issue of needing voters approval for construction of the new stadium. Getting voters approval would be almost impossible. Most voters are not football fans. They think building the stadium will raise their taxes even though the planners assure them it won't. The vast majority of voters could care less about football but care greatly about taxes. They have the same short sighted mentality as the people who decided in the 1870's to split St. Louis City and St. Louis County. They are penny wise and pound foolish. I just hope against hope that the planners can find a way around that selfish, foolish, unprogressive attitude.

Re: Eagles Forced To Wear Black Due To Nike Taking Too Long To Produce Green Jerseys

But the midnight green at the top of the helmet wouldn't be that close to the Kelly Green on the jersey.
