i got my eee pc 900 thanks to j&r, the best there is.

also, i got mine directly for 1 park row J&R in NYC, it came with the 5800 mAh battery, take that to the bank.

the black one would have been nice but I can't wait that long and I'm really digging the white thus far, my dell inspiron 8100 was black enough for the past 7 years, time for something different, something truly portable.

the ONLY problem I have with it so far is the webcam application that is stock on the Linux version is pure crap. I am 99% certain this is a software problem because the XP version on the floor at J&R had a beautfully working webcam. i'm not a big fan of the ogg vorbis video codec, and it is only a matter of time before I swap this thing out to Ubuntu in any case, I'm sure they've got several webcam apps in their repos.

just don't have time to do that right now, so I'll stick with the xandros and continue to write asus complaints hoping they'll make an update...

MSI Wind promising everything under the sun for $400. let's see them deliver. watch it hit for $650.

J&R is still the best in the world as far as i'm concerned.
that's why i pre-ordered with you to begin with.

Nick, it tells you what it can do, it tells you what it can't do. after you look at the specs on the other page, the only way you're going to get more familiar with the device is with video or actually going to the store and testing one out.

hey, I'm glad we're all commenting on this blog. maybe it will let J&R know just how important it is that the get these to us as soon as they can..........

J&R dropped the ball on this one bigtime.

i feel exactly the same way as NC47. Very disappointed that J&R has been slower with my order than the competitors. I ordered mine on Saturday at 1pm. Status? Backordered. Very sad customer.

I'd like to disagree with Nick. This is a blog about new products and it does a decent job of explaining the intent behind the eee pc 900 to some of the people that may not know very much about the newly emerging low cost ultra mobile laptop market.

haters are a dime a dozen. keep doing what you do J&R.
