I just finished watching this, and obviously it hit really close to home. I live about an hour from Farmington, NM, where part of this was filmed. The SAFE forum created the SW Drug Task Force which is based in my town of Durango. There are two local-ish films that were produced in the last few year about meth. I need to get them to you. One of them was produced in Durango and its called "Break the Glass." The second one is about Meth use on the Navajo Reservation and I don't remember the name. I'll find it.

Happy birthday! I remember hearing the same things like "I'll be dead before 30, and if I'm not, I'll probably just kill myself." I used to tell people "I can sleep when I'm dead." A true Tweaker statement. Glad you have surived and continued to spread the word on recovery. Thanks for your story.

When I was about 8 months pregnant, my babydaddy showed up with 7 pitbull puppies in the back of his truck. He had bought them from a "friend of a friend" who was in desperate need of cash. He planned to sell them off and make a huge profit. Sadly, he ended up giving most of them to friends, and recieved a call from the cops saying that the puppies were stolen and he needed to return them ASAP.

I have a sinking suspicion that Meth was involved in all of this.

They might as well have said "Meth is good. Meth is great. I'm HIGH ON METH RIGHT NOW!" Thats basically all I got out of it. Morons.

I think a lot of women feel the same way, but they think they are powerless to do anything about it. Cause who wants to be the bitchy wife? Who wants to have Porn be the reason their marriage ended? Its so much easier to just "let it slide" especially since the whole "he's just gonna do it anyway" thing is so damn prevelent.
To me thats like when my friends said "he's just gonna buy meth from someone else" so why not make some money off him in the process? Grrrr.

Totally invest in "Old School Sesame Street" DVDs. LB LOVES THEM and I still get a kick out of all the Disco-wear.

Watching Tressa's intervention, I felt a lot of anger towards the family. Yeah, they are down-home, all American farmers, but how is she supposed to recover when they all believe she is going to hell for being gay? How can they fully accept who she is when they are damning her? Tressa is NOT a selfish person. I watched Cristy's intervention and her selfishness and manipulation made me want to puke. Tressa just wants her family's love, without the "oh well, you're a good girl, and you could be so much better, but until you marry a man and believe in Jesus, you will never be happy."

GRRRR. I didn't get to see the end, because the youtube video cut off. I did watch part of the follow-up, which looked positive and I'm glad for it.

Yeah I'm ordering this book. Have you read "Crank"? I keep re-reading it, and I think I like it better every time. The first time was hard, because the page layout is hard to read. The words are lined in visual patterns, as if a meth addict were seeing images in the writing. The writing itself is not incredible. It wasn't written by the addict herself, but by her mother. It IS based on a true story, but you can tell its not completely authentic as a teenager's voice. I do like the book, but I'm more excited to read "Tweak" and "Beautiful Boy."

Damn. That's scary. Meth is already so easy to get, this just makes it even easier. Now you don't even need a room of your own. You don't even need a table. 40 minutes and a crock pot? That is horrendously awful.

How bout "What Happens in a Meth lab, gets blown the F*** up" ? Ugh people. The faces of Meth T-shirt did make me chuckle though. I like the posters that say "Marijuana: Hey at least its not CRACK!"

Hey there, stumbled on your blog when I googled "meth lab images" and WOW, what a find. I live in Southwest Colorado, and am all too familiar with the presence of this drug. I am constantly trying to find resources where people can tell their stories and raise awareness about the life altering, soul destroying, leave you in the gutter to die- drug that is meth.

I saw the Faces of Meth a while back and forwarded it to everyone I knew. The Montana Meth Project has some award winning ad campaigns right now, and the state of New Mexico is running a great Native American Anti-Meth campaign too.
