Pretty much my conclusions exactly except the coverage part. Even the previous EDGE iphone would have been good to me (basically anything with a lighter data plan) for me to experience this. Now that I have it, I think the challenge is to really use it and find ways to make this investment worth it whether it be more productivity or social interaction (we can finally leave computers at home).

Having said that, it is more a glorified browser than anything else until we get voice input or something even crazier. Of course they could start by allowing portrait mode for emails.

Yeah, it sucks. Makes you wonder what crazy profit margins they must be getting with phones and ipods. There's a part of me hoping that they'll shake off preconcieved notions from the past and attack the PC market like never before. Who cares about clone PCs? The ability to install the trashtastic Windows on an equally trashtastic knock off PC isn't as alluring as it once was. If they want complete freedom they can go with one of those Linux distros. If I didn't have Apple I'd probably go Ubuntu.

I agree. What you think Digg wants rarely is but the catchy ones have a way of bubbling up on their own.

I'm really torn by this since MLB is really indispensable to me (as a minor blog) but this debacle really diminished my respect for MLB.

These are the people who stood by MLB during the rough patches and even defended the founder's integrity against JZ's faux pas. Just kick them in the nuts. I'm sure they wont mind.

That's like arresting a dude for sexual assault because he tapped on the shoulder of a naked woman in public for telling her, "miss, you should wear some clothes because these streets are dangerous".

To be frank I no longer see how MLB is even worth a couple million dollars when the app has more security holes than something whipped up by script kiddies.

Seriously, if you have time to read all these blogs you should have your nose to the grindstone and be cranking away code to address these issues. What harm did Shoemoney do that the legion of spammers still lurking MLB couldn't do or have already done?

MLB guys busted their behinds to put out a great service and if major players bow out because someone outside the team made a misinformed remark, then the whole system starts sucking and becomes a parlor trick for small time bloggers.

I still like MLB. It's great for small-timers like myself. But yeah, if MLB is the major force driving traffic to your blog, it's time to work on something else.

I guess Jeremy never really took a peek at all the shady crap already going on within MLB.
