I feel bad for the clients of both these agents, who I'm sure have no idea that their agents are using them to make extra cash only for themselves. These are the kind of agents who'll do anything to make a quick buck, either by shaking down the seller or the buyer - doesn't matter which one they're representing as long as they get paid. Oh well, what goes around comes around eventually.

Good point about using a Realtor or agent - too many people these days trust in sites like Craigslist alone when moving from out of state, and it can be easy to be suckered if you're doing it alone.

It sounds like the people who wrote this letter for MAR are the ones who need to find a new career path -- if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Great post -- being focused on the same goal is essential for a winning team, whether it be in sports or a Realtor and a client.

I don't think these people are crazy -- they're forced to go to these measures because urban housing prices are so far out of their reach. If housing in the city cost the same as in the suburbs, I'm sure a lot of people would opt to for the proximity to work and culture that urban living can provide. But that's just not the reality of the real estate market.

I couldn't agree more -- sales are down from record highs, but that doesn't mean that the ship is sinking. The fact of the matter is that the real estate market fluctuates, and what goes up will eventually come down (but won't necessarily crash land).

That would have to be a REALLY nice apartment...
