The Taliban claimed this title when they were originally formed... the US had better be very careful that it does not cause the whole country to erupt against its forces...that is when it will be humiliated as will its other allies... There can be no one militia - since the society of Afghanistan is far more fractured and divided than Iraqi society. The best solution would be the creation of regional entities within Afghanistan - self governing - all tied together in a loose federal mechanism to a broader entity. That way the inhabitants will have a stake in keeping each other in check and disciplining any one whom wants to bully the others...TaajMon, 13 Oct 2008 20:09:30 -0000
