Yeah i know how you feel... but the n95-3 was special... it got the bigger battery and more memory that the euro boys were dying for on their original n95 ^_^ it was probably the first time that the US got the superior version of the phone (then again the 95-2 was released at the same time... but I value a removable memory card vs a larger screen)

but before I found out the US spec n95 is coming out i was almost ready to get an E90... so it makes it hard to pick out a device when you have no idea if they are going to make the US version.

ALSO firmwares are also a big deal... WTF nokia? DRM on the n95-3... is that some kind of joke?

I agree the iPhone will remain dominant, but thats because the majority of the users wouldn't know what to do with 80% of the features of the N95, remember it IS a smart phone and the apple is not.

Unfortunately the reason that nintendo got a terrible score was due to Green Peace's lack of information. Nintendo didn't provide then with the information, and green peace as not able to find any information about them so they got plastered with a 0. It has nothing to do with their manufacturing techniques, just plain old politics and bullying.

heh i kinda assumed that you had one already. What i really want to do with mine is see if its possible to retrofit the 8gb screen/buttons to our 95-3 and have the best 95 yet (after we get firmware 20)

so this is your first time playing with a n95 for an extended amount of time? Because the non 8gb version also have the movie editors.

As far a screen rotation, i wish it did rotate to all angles because for games I am used to my left thumb use the D-Pad. Actually is brings up the point that the buttons that come out when you slide it down should be input buttons for games that could also be used to control music... it would make it a better gaming device that the E90 which was polled to be the device people wanted to use for the new ngage.

Also using it upside down would allow me to read comics and books with a much better grip and more comfortable position in my hand than right side up horizontal.

when working on ideas and such, developers should not try to restrict things like the available view modes because you add more freedom and choices to the people using it, especially for things that they don't originally consider.

i never meant it was samir... im talking about nokia... too.

emulators and such can get their content to rotate any way the please, but nokia seems to be the one that may have limited the rotation element since they are the only ones with access to change the OS engine... when they should have allowed any rotation available even if they didn't have a use for it it, im sure they never foresaw 75% of the apps people have made for their OS... you did the work to get it to rotate in one direction, surely it couldn't be too much more trouble to get it to work in any direction ^_^

I'd like to use it to see if it would make a HDR photo (take a pic with low ev, mid ev, and high ev) Since i have an N95 I have access to a bit more camera-riffic features.

Something I'd see if they could do is just as you said, use some kinda image mapping to get a rough estimate where each picture is so it could smartly adapt them when combining them.

The only thing Mobitubia has on emTube is Mobitubia's interface. I think its easier to navigate... but thats about it. Maybe the two authors can collab and we'd have emTube with a Mobitubia UI.

Ugg... I hate the fact that the n95-3 podcasting app cant stream (you can 'test' what has been downloaded but it stops were ever the file was when you started)

mobilcast allows you the stream audiocasts (maybe {probably not} videocasts) to our cellphones

Thing is I don't know if its our n95-3 or all s60 phones, but when listening to it there is a hiccup that happens like every 5 seconds... really aggravating.

I know know how important DVB-H is, because using a slingbox is far better.

Also I am in the US so I have no problem waiting for the US n96 with a bigger battery ^_^ (just a guess)

I totally called the gaming buttons though, i've been saying from the start that they media keys on the n95 should have been more game like. I hope they allow them to be 'programmable' in the sense that you can tell the phone what program is a game, and what number keys the buttons represent in the game buttons to add 'backwards' compatibility

I am currently using handy blacklist, and right before I got my N95 (maybe 2 months prior) I started receiving lots of spam calls... and these calls were terrible. Reading they way these spam calls worked:
1st automated calls would dial your number frequently (some times more than once a day). if you happen to pick up the phone then you hear the sound of some one hanging up on you. what just happened was the computer just logged an ideal time for a telemarketer to call you with some bull service. (many times it was "congratulations for owning a _____ credit card. You are entitled to a ___[insert vacation/prize here]___ I just need to verify the last 4 digits of you card (and they actually will tell you the last 4 digits)"

So the second I got my n95, got the trial version of hand black list, started black listing these numbers (after google searching them) and watch as the amount of blocked calls decreases maybe because the computers think my phone number is disconnected or something ^_^

I can't figure out why they don't allow streaming podcasts. Mobicast can do it (though it is glitch on my N95-3), my PSP can do it, why cant they add it already. The preview function they have built in ALMOST does it.

I am extremely disappointed with the battery size and lack of 3D acceleration... wtf! Especially with the game buttons they include... they are taking a step backwards for the platform.

I actually like the dual LED idea, I think it will perform much better than you expect, and with one of the leds on for movie mode... really makes movie mode awesome for low light situations.

I think Texas Instruments should develop applications that are ports of calculators to cellphones. I'd pay for a TI-89 S60 (or IPhone) emulator.

Hey, as far as documents go, check out http://www.scanr.com/

You can take the picture of your document, upload it to their site (with the symbian app they provide or though email) and it will automatically try to clean up the image (make the paper white and the text black) and it will try to create a TEXT DOCUMENT of what you scanned. It can also fax the pic directly from you phone. I think you get 8 free uploads a month.

The harm is all this billions and billions of slightly different handsets, then trying to create software to unify them, (like N-Gage and not utilizing the Floating Point chips (3d chips) because not all phones have them) and confusing the hell out of consumers because the numbers don't make any sense.

The N96 SHOULD be packing the large battery and oled screen. As a current n95-3 owner, I cannot warrent the purchase of the n96... it feels like a downgrade, but looking towards the N85 makes me feel like I will loose something that my n95 has (maybe the processor speeds are lower... dont really know the specs yet)
AND a xenon flash for picture with led lighting for video should be then end all fix for the handsets.

its a pretty clear list what should be flagship:
oled screen
awesome battery
xenon flash pic
led light for focus, video, and flash light

Gah... did you not try Reset Generation? its a pretty fantastic game. (featuring online multiplayer... heck, you can even play it on your computer)
