Networking is extremely important everywhere, but I personally believe as you do that it's vital in this region if we are to move onward and upward.

I have sent my resume and cover letter to Webmail, Inc for one of their sales positions. I'll keep you posted if I make any progress. From reading Pat Matthew's posts on his blog (http://patmatthews.typepad.com/blog/2005/07/what_i_love_abo.html) I can say I'm very hopeful to be contacted by them. It seems like they have a terrific work environment and he is a really great individual to work with/for. All the info I've previously read in the periodicals and Internet reviews have great things to say about their company.

Thanks for the followup by email too!

Re: Blog Author Takes New Position

Hey Stuart,

Congratulations, I wondered what you were alluding to at the Young Professionals luncheon. Let me know if/how I can help you in your new pursuit.

Best regards!

Re: 110 Job Openings in Roanoke

Where are they posting these jobs? I guess the newspaper is too expensive to post them all, but at least they should put an ad in there saying they have openings, check our website!

Maybe I should be smarter though and just check it first! :)

Re: The Renick Group Has Jobs in NewVa

What an awesome resource! This seems like a logical thing for the City or other local government to manage; although, I think, having worked for the government myself, I know there can be a lot of red tape to cut through on just about any decision. It could also be done by a local chamber of commerce pretty easily as well or be developed into a not-for-profit group managed by a board.

I am also available for a meeting at any point and would like to be involved in the brainstorming, planning and implementation of this project.

It seems Roanoke.com tries to do some of this stuff, but I think it can be done MUCH better, especially with an eye on Web 2.0.

Looking forward to hearing from others,

Marty

Re: RNR Sticker

I just sent an email for one. Their interface leaves something to be desired but you can't beat the cool higher-interest bearing savings and checking accounts!

Re: The 90’s Called Yahoo & Asked for its Homepage Back - New Design Coming!

That's the best they could come up with? I would have expected something a lot better from a player like Yahoo.
