There is so much to say, but it truly was an amazing moment for the United States of America. President Obamas speech was deeply profound, much of it calling for a new era of peace and the United Statess role in working for that. There were some great moments during the ceremony, including the Inaugural Address, the poem and a brilliant benediction by Rev. Joseph Lowry (Im still looking for the full text), in which he prayed that wed turn our tanks into tractors. Additionally, the moment President Obama was sworn in, change not only came to our nation, but it also came to WhiteHouse.gov, with a wealth of new information, including a blog and Weekly Video Address from President Obama.

As I watched this on CNN this morning, I couldnt help but feel emotional. I couldnt help but feel more patriotic; actually proud to be an American. It seems a bit cheesy to type that, and I know that President Obama is not a Messiah figure, and this doesnt mean our nation is perfect by any means. But I kept watching peoples Facebook Status Updates and Tweets about how hopeful they were, about how they could not really be proud to be a part of this country. I think that was evident from the faces and tears of those in the crowds around the United States today. Something happened today. Something great happened. The swearing in of President Obama allowed millions of dissatisifed and disillusioned Americans to finally be able to claim their identity as citizens of these United States and be able to hope once again.

Re: How to Win an iPod Shuffle

I did all three - however for the email portion, I signed up with my business email account, which is different from this personal one. I got a couple free copies of the Green Bible to review, and as far as different kinds of "hip" Bibles go, it's a nice Bible. When I copy + pasted from your site, it pasted ALL of my entries under the "Last 100 posts" section. I love the look....and I do of course love me some Calibri...

Now, I'm not really one to speak, because my own blog is a pretty straight and simple Thesis design...but I'm working on some new stuff...

But for me - the easiest way to tell a Thesis design...? The byline. Most people don't bother to change the byline (I didn't on my blog). I actually really like it. But...it's how I can tell if something's a Thesis-based design or not...

Re: Father God?

Say hello to P-town for me. Some of the great hymns blasted out by Martin Tel on the organ, with the chapel just filled with people...it's great.

Gets a little old day, after day, after day during the year, considering the fact that Martin and others are incredibly strict with what they "allow" in worship during the academic year. A friend of mine led some more contemporary stuff every now and then but it was always a real stretch and a bit of an "inconvenience" if someone preaching wanted something other than Martin playing the organ...

But...good music though...

Re: A Mainline Friend of Emergent Village

We'd love to have you there...It'd be good to meet you too. I was a skeptical user - started up once - thought it was pointless. Then started up again about a year later, started following the right people, and I've been a hard-core user ever since...I work in youth ministry in Livermore, CA and have seen Twitter as a great way to connect with the youth of our church. So, thanks!

Also, I don't know if you ever saw something we did, "Twitter of Faith." You can check it out. It was a pretty cool thing - ended up being primarily Christians - but we tried to open it up to people of other faiths (or no faiths).

Thanks for Twitter!
