Looking in NR's list of "Also-rans" I was shocked, shocked! to see "Amazing Grace" identified as a "conservative" movie. The presumption passeth all understanding. Next that rag will be celebrating "The Grapes of Wrath" as exemplifying the longstanding conservative compassion for the less fortunate in times of economic distress.
Given the recent history of performance-enhancing drug use by top-level track & field athletes, it's natural that some degree of suspicion would be directed at the remarkable Usain Bolt -- and the fact that he's not an American has nothing to do with it. The ease with which he won both his races and the staggering margins of victory were bound to raise questions, but I think the current drug screening regime at the Olympics can probably be trusted.
You make a good case that he doesn't belong in the R&R HOF, but were there a Popular Music Hall of Fame, Leonard Cohen should be in. Just think how many times and in how many places we've heard "Hallelujah" in recent years?
