They are in no way connected with the real timing. So when there are delays or strikes, train schedules keep the same. So before location based services find their way NMBS still has a lot to do. And if you ask my personal opinion, it's not their ambition... They don't even succeed in sending a normal HTML newsletter:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/bartclaeys/2639202...
But your idea is obvious and will find its way sooner or later.

Re: Facebook Pages Directory: Where Is It?

The problem with Pages is, that most of those already have an equivalent Group. USA!

Duseuh, shoot your questions at me!
http://applefanbe.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/road...

Re: KitchenAid @ COOKAholic

There are indeed too many social bookmarking and photo sharing sites. But are there too many ajax start pages and online calenders? There are only a few ajax start pages that really work and their is no online calender that does the job well. But there are a lot of social bookmark sites that work, that's the problem, there all working well and non-beta! So I don't really understand why developers put all their efforts in it... On the other side, I'm still waiting for that perfect online calender (with import and export features) and ajax startpage (supporting multiple page for example), so they should be spending time on those applications because there is no number 1 yet.

Re: 2006/02/20/the-mashable-reshuffle/

Feedburner doesn't like Weblist too much. During sign-up process they ask for a zip code and I must always cheat cause our zipcodes don't go higher than 9999.

Sometimes it's also hard to figure out whether a certain service works outside the States and that's something Ether does wrong in its communication as well. 1-888 is a total different number in Europe than in de States. Probably because speach-to-text engines need time to get to know a voice. Suppose this "voice-fingerprint" is a file which can be distributed? A technology could be developed to get to know a voice and this intelligence could be saved into a file. Everyone who gets this file can convert that voice to text. That would be neat!

Re: 2006/03/17/innertee-t-shirt-remixing/

Where is the link to the innerTree website?
Or is there something I don't get... I'm currently connected to +300 people and I enjoy seeing their pictures and reading their notes on a daily base. The most valuable tool is the "event" tool. I get informed about new events and I can subscribe right away. Even better, I can see which other friends will be present. There is no other social network (at least not in Belgium) that offers all these features and that hosts that many people. So, I’m not thinking about leaving it. The stream of application invites are over too. Now and then I get an invite from a newbie friend, but I don’t bother. They just have to be educated a bit :)

Re: 2008/05/08/declining-facebook-usage/

I totally don't agree. The user interface is much better than Windows XP and there are almost no crashes. I have to agree that the first months Vista wasn't very stable, but after some fixes things are running very smoothly. Starting up and shutting down is slow, that's true (that's why I only hibernate), but for the rest it works very fast on a new laptop. As for the features, there are no world shocking new features in Vista (well, there are but nobody uses them) and de sidebar... I turned it off because it took too much memory and was locking things up. The sidebar was actually the only thing that caused instability but that might be because of bad programmed gadgets. I'm not missing the sidebar at all, I can have the same gadgets in my browser (Netvibes) so why put them on your desktop? Side note: I'm a power user (web developer) using my laptop at least 10 hours a day running mainly graphical software (Adobe Suite). I could connect my mobile phone, camera, external hard disk, wireless mouse etc. without any problems. The only program I could not run was Pegasus Mail, but once I dragged it to the c:\ folder it worked without any problems. Summarized: Vista improved a lot latest months and everyone who says it sucks is clearly not using it.
