in USA! USA! USA! on Past is Prologue
Duseuh, shoot your questions at me!

in 2008/10/29/windows-7-netbook/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I've been running Vista for the past six month and I'm very happy with it. The user interface is much better than Windows XP and there are almost no crashes. I have to agree that the first months Vista wasn't very stable, but after some fixes things are running very smoothly. Starting up and shutting down is slow, that's true (that's why I only hibernate), but for the rest it works very fast on a new laptop. As for the features, there are no world shocking new features in Vista (well, there are but nobody uses them) and de sidebar... I turned it off because it took too much memory and was locking things up. The sidebar was actually the only thing that caused instability but that might be because of bad programmed gadgets. I'm not missing the sidebar at all, I can have the same gadgets in my browser (Netvibes) so why put them on your desktop? Side note: I'm a power user (web developer) using my laptop at least 10 hours a day running mainly graphical software (Adobe Suite). I could connect my mobile phone, camera, external hard disk, wireless mouse etc. without any problems. The only program I could not run was Pegasus Mail, but once I dragged it to the c:\ folder it worked without any problems. Summarized: Vista improved a lot latest months and everyone who says it sucks is clearly not using it.

in Simple Location Based Service idea on Born on the Web
The fact is, NMBS train schedules are static. They are in no way connected with the real timing. So when there are delays or strikes, train schedules keep the same. So before location based services find their way NMBS still has a lot to do. And if you ask my personal opinion, it's not their ambition... They don't even succeed in sending a normal HTML newsletter:

But your idea is obvious and will find its way sooner or later.

Are we finally gonna stop with these political posts? Seriously I did not subscribe for this kind of news! Realize that there are many foreigners reading this blog who don't care about American politics. Or at least don't care about it THAT much. We have our own channels to follow the US elections! So please stop and get back on track!

B) Watchers of NBC / Hulu /SNL
C) Affected by the bailout.
D) Concerned about freedom of speech on the web.
I'm guessing you're probably a user of YouTube - so this story has implications even for you. The last sub-section brings it back around beyond the political angle - I'd suggest you read that to see how this story applies to you beyond US politics.

So you guys don't mind there is no master password feature in Chrome?
That's the only reason why I'm not using it as my default browser.

There is always room for distraction. If they block Facebook or whatever other site you'll find another thing to waste your time with. So blocking sites doesn't make any sense.

I totally don't agree. This poll has been answered by people working the web sector or following the web very closely. This group is not representative for the bigger group that has joined Facebook!

in 2008/05/07/so-are-you-fed-up-with-facebook/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Facebook is still the number one social network where most of my friends and colleagues are present. I'm currently connected to +300 people and I enjoy seeing their pictures and reading their notes on a daily base. The most valuable tool is the "event" tool. I get informed about new events and I can subscribe right away. Even better, I can see which other friends will be present. There is no other social network (at least not in Belgium) that offers all these features and that hosts that many people. So, I’m not thinking about leaving it. The stream of application invites are over too. Now and then I get an invite from a newbie friend, but I don’t bother. They just have to be educated a bit :)

in Wat ABN AMRO geleerd heeft uit Second Life on Kris blogt
En zwijg me over werving via Second Life, da's helemaal een grote leugen!

in Facebook Pages Directory: Where Is It? on AllFacebook
The problem with Pages is, that most of those already have an equivalent Group. Groups were introduced earlier than Pages, so why would one switch over to an empty Page if a Group is already vibrant and full of content? I would like to see a conversion tool to create a Page out of a Group.

I've still no clue what that website is all about. There is threadless.com which totally rocks. I personally don't like cafépress and similar businesses. innerTree looks weird, the logo looks weird. I can not define even one person who could be in the target group of this website, graphically speaking. It doesn't breath Web 2.0 at all. Still confused about this post...
