in Insiders reveal tech secrets behind Obama's winning campaign on IT Business
Hi there!
Thanks for the review and for putting the video up! I just wanted to clarify that while Scott was a key member of the team, my involvement was as full-time volunteer for the Internal Organizing team. It was an incredible experience and one that I am very proud to be a part of! If you could update the headline it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

in Announcing the Pixelated Blog Conference Series on Chris Brogan
What a fabulous idea! I'm so excited!! I'm wondering if at the end of the week (the time i get my post up) we can have a round up with all of the participants? I want to make sure I've hit them all. Maybe I'll do a full list on my blog after. I love it!

in How to Do More With Less Time on Chris Brogan
I find Omni's GTD software Omnifocus is awesome for optimizing the stuff you have to do during the day. It lets you tag tasks with contexts (@home, @incar, @mall) so that when you're about to run out, you can just easily shift the view from a project list to a context based list and know that you're maximizing your time.
I honestly can't remember how I got anything done without it.

in My Best Advice About Personal Branding on Chris Brogan
Chris,
When are you going to offer all of your blog posts in one easy to refer text book?!
Come on, I'll set it up via LuLu for you myself!
I would love to have a hard copy to refer to, lol.
The interesting thing I'm finding about personal branding is the evolution of your brand as you change and grow. I've been trying to foster my personal brand around personality characteristics (transparency, community, etc) rather then a social media expertise. Who knows what i'll be doing in two years or even five years!
I need a brand that I know will last.

LOL, if only that was the type of spam I got, I would be in such a happy place. Instead I keep getting news that if I only give the Bank of You've Got To Be Joking my account address I will be eligible to win ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS!
*sigh* Spam on, Chris, Spam on.

in Be Sexier in Person on Chris Brogan
I don't like it when someone announces they're looking for a job right away, right after you met them. It makes me feel awkward like I'm supposed to automatically mentally scan my contacts for prospects or something. To be honest, just talking about some of the stuff you're passionate about, is a better way to get networked and find out what's happening on the job scene.

in Growing Your Audience- Some Basics on Chris Brogan
Another interesting way that people might consider are other sites where you can actually push your RSS feed right on there. An example of this is Facebook (Flog is a good application) It's an alternative to dropping your URL everywhere, since it actually pulls little snippets of your posts to entice readers. I've gotten quite a few readers to my blog through that method. :)
Great post Chris!

in The Real Power of Personal Branding on Chris Brogan
This reminds me of The Dip by Seth Godin, somewhere in there he says that being well rounded is silly and that success rewards the obsessed, and those who focus on what they are good at.
To add to Michael Carrasquillo's comment, i think he touched on a brilliant insight. Consistency that carries both offline and online. So taking the time to create a signature look that you push out to all your client touch points ensures that your brand message is reinforced at every level. :)

in Develop a Strong Personal Brand Online - Part 2 on Chris Brogan
Do'ers fall into the same category as the job search catch-22, in order for clients to let you experiment you have to show your stuff and in order for you to show your stuff clients have to let you experiment, lol.
But maybe on my own site (which is currently being overhauled) i need to find a more effective way to show my experience. *cough cough* hey Chris, sounds like a just gave you part three. What's the most effective way to showcase your expertise? LInked in referrals? Case studies? Getting published or news paper clips? Video? What do clients want?

I'd love to talk about differentiation. When there are so many people talking about the same things these days, how do you stand out? How does your voice get heard?

in Globe and Mail pay wall comes down on Mathew's comments
I was at a conference the other day where the NYT R&D guys were speaking. They said that while providing content for free increased users, they still saw that people were willing to pay for archival content. Even when they upped the price they saw no decline in users. So their model is evolving into Current=Free, Old=Pay.

I want to see how it all started. You sounded a lot like me and I just started blogging "professionally" a few months ago. It gives me a bit of hope that one day I'll have posts as good as yours. :)

in IBM Builds LOTS of Social Apps on Chris Brogan
It's about time! I always thought it was so funny that businesses would hold on to old and clunky technology (a la "reply all" variety" instead of implementing solutions to make them smarter and more efficient. I couldn't believe the up hill battle I fought to implement a wiki to reduce email and deal with version control of documents.

Information Overload:
How to navigate through the thousand blogs that are out there in order to stay up to speed without losing your mind.
With new blogs popping up daily and a never-ending stream of ideas, concepts and discussions, how do you get your head around all the information floating 24/7 on the web?
ps: if anyone figures this out, let me know..

but 'm not sure whether paying for archives makes much more sense than
paying for the current news and commentary.
I think if you want to re-use or re-publish the content in some way
then maybe we should charge for that, but when it comes to just
reading and/or linking to archives I don't know why we wouldn't make
that free as well -- the assumption being that by making them freely
available we increase the value to advertisers and benefit from the
"long tail" effect.
Of course, I have no way of knowing whether that would compensate for
the money that we currently make from charging for access to the
archives :-)
