LIke I have been saying for almost a year BushLite.

All of the deprevation techniques, would tend to lead to increasing loss of mental focus; fatigue, pain, fear, panic, isolation,sensory deprivation, and weakness from lack of sufficient nutrition.

So the end result is still going to be that interregators would be dealing with people who would be increasingly unable to focus, remember, speak coherently, and connect to the reality (names, places, dates) of their existance before capture, before mistreatment.

There's no reason to believe it won't either. Doing nothing definitely will.

When sitting on a fire ant (that's pronounced far aint) mound you have one best choice. MOVE somewhere else, and quickly.

As a non native of Maine who has just recently moved from Maine, I know that Maine is in a world of hurt financially. It was one of the poorest states, with some of the hightst un and under empolyment in the nation preBushies, now it is in even worse straights.
I suspect that many congress persons from poor and needy states and districts will have to decide to support their President sooner or later.

Hopefully it will be sooner. As later will only heighten the destruction that the Repocons have left as thier legacy.

That $650B was in the news, the day after the first nay vote of the House.
Yet hardly anybody has talked about that freebee given by Bernanke/Paulson.
So this whole give away started at $1350B.

This whole give away was planned down to the dollar by the repocons and congress and the press just stood there and cheered.

Nobody has said. "Oooo, didn't they come up with a plan quick. They must have stayed up all night"
They didn't have to. It was already in the print que ready to hand around.

There are all sorts of characteristics of Palin's that make her undesirable as a national, or even state or local leader.

She is heavily into cronyism. Qualifications be damned.
She does not hesitate to use her staff as personal hatchet men.

She is religiously intolerant. How can she serve a nation of diverse religious beliefs?

She is heavily into firing qualified public servants who may differ with her. Presumably, therefore, she lacks the skill to sit and talk to, listen to, and learn from people with whom she differs. That makes her representative only of herself.

She is heavily into using any power she can get her hands on, to harass and cause harm to people she dislikes or disagrees with. That is not a Christ-like characteristic, nor is it a good characteristic for a leader of an increasingly diverse and growing state or national population.

She is absolutely OK with accepting personal gifts and goodies, and personal favors, and is already a pro at the tit-for-tat game.

Whether or not she can learn economy, foreign policy, office management, PR skills, compromise, respectful behavior, and all the other skills needed for true political leadership, by this Thursday or Nov 11– her personally chosen, and proven behaviors, while in office, disbar her from being representative of the people of this or any country.

The willingness of Obama to acknowledge when McCain is correct is such a great illustration of the difference in respect and a capacity to compromise in an honorable manner with another person, between he and McCain.

McCain's staff's' response in using Obama's respect of another, as a weapon against Obama is an example of why, when McCain finally joined in the "compromise" efforts on the current $700T bailout - the compromise failed.

Two totally different personalities. One respects and acknowledges, the other brays like an ass and kicks as a kneejerk response.

I read the Burns article and wonder about the accuracy of the publish date. It read like it was written yesterday, literally. Even to knowing that Biden would be Obama's VP, way bakc in June.
Palins approval rate is not sky high.
