vizualgraphix Thanks for the info on Call Graph. The feature set looks great, however, it's only available (currently) for Windows and Linux. I'm a Mac user, so I'll wait for the Mac versions this summer. Thanks! Gotta love free apps!

in A New Kind of Incubation Model. Part III | Vijay Anand on Vijay Anand | The Startup Guy
I think "mentorship" is overrated. We are capable enough build a billion dollar business the way we want to. We do not want "training" for equity.

Well Barcamps are GPL'ed. You are free to modify the format, use the name and conduct as many as you want in the format you wish. And contribute the changes back to the community.

And I dont think i have to tell you about the GPL license. You'd know about it. The only rule you need to follow is to do it way you want.

Are you talking here about an un-conference or a conference? Who has heard of rules in barcamps? Who makes those rules. Who are the organizers to tell me whether I should use the PPT or not. Or keep the room open for only 30 participants. Or keep it conversational for that matter> Or to do a demo or not. I will. I will use them if I like. I will do as I like.

Rules are what destroys a barcamp. Not make them. Its absurd to think that I'll attend a Barcamp and abide by the rules which the un-orgnizers have imposed on me. It can never be successful.

You leave the barcampers to conduct barcamp as they want.

Nice way of researching a blog post. Very thorough.

On the topic of aggregation, yeah, this is a problem which several startups are trying to solve. With the oncoming semantic web, maybe this goal can be realized fully.

Justdial is spot on. Throwing people at the problem which, in India, is cheaper than getting an high end technology.

The only problem is, some of the business practices of Justdial are questionable. I have heard couple of stories where personal information have been given up as leads to other services. Getting unwarranted calls on your mobile urging you to buy their service is something you dont particularly like. :)

I fully agree. The success of open source model has lots of people completely confused. Most of the time they just take open source to be free as in "beer" and then start complaining why should it be like that without bothering to delve a bit more deeper and go into the values and ideologies behind it. I call them the classic victims of M$ FUD practices. :)

I have proposed a talk on my project in FOSS.IN. It is up with the panel for review. I hope to show off my work there and formally launch it in the developer community. Looking forward to meet you there.
