This has mainly to do with product cycles, I believe. It's been obvious for the last couple of years that there has been a sync problem between the major events, and what Apple was going to release. It's only natural that Jobs wanted to announce something sensational at every event, but if the projects couldn't deliver, then they couldn't deliver. It's better to do special events, when things are ready to be delivered. I see nothing more than that.
Okay, so MSFT is safe in the enterprise market for now. How long will it take before people want to experience in their workplace what they have at home? Is it reasonable to think that they live in the Apple world at home and don't want the same at work? For how long can IT-departments resist this need for change? I will give it a couple of years, no more than three.
