in Put Food in its Place: Weighing In - Part Three on Carrie and Danielle
Oh my gosh. This is so good. Take the guilt out of eating, because guilt is never productive. You are so right, eating should be joyous. Often we're sharing a meal with someone we care about, so why would we polute that experience by throwing guilt on our plates. Doesn't mean I'm going to eat an entire German chocolate cake, only that I'm going to appreciate my eating experience fully.

in Start Living Again: Weighing In - Part Two on Carrie and Danielle
This is a great article. It reminds me of this gal I saw at the airport last year. She was about 5'9" and maybe, 180ish lbs. She was on the bigger side. The thing I noticed about her was her confidence. She dressed well and held her head high. She was gorgeous! There was something about the way she carried herself that stopped traffic. I wasn't the only person noticing her. She was accenting her strengths and (it appeared), living in "the now". I guess all that to say, self love is a beautiful thing to see as well as be. Colleen, you are a great writer! And your message is strong. Thank you.

WOW! Nicely said. I totally agree and am taking you up on your advise. No more scale! My mom gets on her scale a couple of times a day and it really affects her attitude. When I'm visiting, I wonder everytime she walks into the bathroom if she's going to come out pissed. She's in her 70's by the way. This kind of self sabotage has been going on for a while in this country. I'll be having a talk with her, or sending her here to read this article.
