Before he died he said that instead of flowers for his funeral he wanted people to donate to the Cancer centre that helped him while he was sick. So, that would make a great gift.

I do really like your idea of doing something instead. That way you get the best part of the holidays - spending time together.

hahaha...how funny! my hubby loves to change up his facial hair. this past winter, after a long bout with a very thick beard he embarked on the 5-day shaving adventure. you can see his progression in my flickr account.

i agree that twitter needs to catch up. esp. lately with everything breaking down! twitter can become an echo chamber if you aren't careful.

ugh....she's asking to remove her name? That's such a big no-no. I would only ask to remove a name if what was written wasn't true. Kudos to her for keeping track but still, she sent you a bad pitch and she needs to live with that.

I also work in Blogger Relations and realize the risk that that my name may end up on someone's blog when I don't want it there (hasn't happened so far). I know I would never ask to have it taken down, unless the story was completely false.

Instead, I would see it as an opportunity to build a relationship with that blogger to set things right. Maybe I would write a post on my own blog calling out my mistakes and using it as a great example of something I learned.

I buy two vodkas - the cheap kind for mixed drinks and grey goose for my martinis.

And if I ever saw anyone mixing my Grey goose with juice/pop etc....they would feel the wrath. It's just wrong because there is a HUGE difference in taste and smell.

okay, i agree. a day without twitter can be...well..trying.

but you must have learned something! i mean, there was a time before twitter where you got along just fine. While twitter is a great and useful tool, not using it for a day is like not using your car for a day. it's not ONLY an inconvenience. some good could come out of it.

what I'm trying to say is that from your tweet you said you wanted to learn something. so...stop focusing on what you missed out on and tell us what you learned :)

i am so torn over RSS.

While it's handy, convenient and fast i do have to major problems with it:

1) It gets out of control. Seriously, you leave it for a day and BAM! it's jam packed and takes forever to get back down again. i find that when this happens i tend to not read blog thoroughly or just do a headline scan for anything the sparks my interest. truthfully I may be missing some great content.

2) You don't get the experience of the blog. I know you said that this was a plus for you, but people spend a lot of time thinking about their layout, pictures (essentially, their brand) but it all looks the same in a feeder.

See? that's why im torn ;)

Shey, I am 100% with you on this one. I recently wrote my own set of VERY sarcastic 'rules' for Twitter.

Rules? HA! I laugh at rules on the internet. Common courtesy, just like in the 'real' world, will do just fine. After that, each person has the right to their own experiences.
