in Harry Gonso pegged to lead coaching search on Inside the Hall
They have fans wanting to know something is happening in someway of searching for a coach as well as letting recruits know they are being active. Plus the press etc. So they had to release something because it's been so long since we have really heard anythign in regards to this.

Yeah that is understandable I guess but it just seems like bad timing. Of course this whole thing from the get go has been bad timing, so maybe the kids are getting used to it. I just hope this doesn't affect them anymore going into the tournament. They are going to have to be focused and ready for a very game Arkansas team and it doesn't get any easier after that.

elite schools have been having troubel trouble getting big name coaches ex. Kentucky trying to get Donavon. Coaches are realizing they can get success at smaller schools now without the elite school pressure.

in Pritchard focused on state championship on Inside the Hall
Wish we would here or someone would ask Greenspan if he has a list at least and question him abotu using a head hunting service again. Which I hope he doesn't use. It's great to be finally getting somewhat of some good news lately though abotu some of the recruits. Hopefully the other 2 that appear to be bolting hold off on any commitments till we get a new coach.

in Will Jamarcus Ellis return on Friday? on Inside the Hall
I think part of this goes back to Sampson. i liked Sampson but as we have seen, player skills havent been developed and neither has disclipine.

I dont' know in some ways. This team has more talent. But this team doesn't play like a team. 02 was playing for the School. were proud to be Hoosiers. This team...not so much.

Lol Pitino isn't going back to the NBA especially after he turns 60. But agreed wrong coach for us

in Roth solid with commitment to Indiana on Inside the Hall
Lol your knocking those other coaches for being too oung and not enough experience but remember Kentucky picked up Pitino as a young up and comer. Pitino is too imbedded in Louisville. Being at Louisville is not killing his chances of winning a championship, they have won a couple and just went to final four a couple years ago. His team this year has a good shot. We need to get a younger up and comer who is gonna be here awhile

There was another traditional team that once took a chance on an up and comer from Army who built the program into a national powerhouse and won three championshps with that coach from Army.
Take your pick: Indiana or Duke. That's a pretty good track record with "young up and coming talent" that you've so decidedly and ignorantly panned.

in Eric Gordon: Perception vs. reality on Inside the Hall
As would I but NBA GM's dont't think like that anymore. The draft is all about what the player might do in a couple years. It's changed the past 10 years since highschoolers started comingin so much more. They don't have to have such a standout year or years to get a high draft selection like they used to. They just have to see that the player seems like he will be able to learn and grow well.

As an IU fan it doesn't feel like a 25 win team and that we have a top ten talented team. We should be celebrating this team and celebrating finishing the season strong. But this is not happening. The team seems to have given up and not care. Not care about the school, themselves, their teammates or the fans.

decent seed? we are looking at a 4 at best, prolly a 5. A 3 seed was at worst the prediction at the begging of the year.

As crazy as it sounds I'd like to see some X-players like, Chaney and Isaiah come in and tell them they better get used to losing coaches because it's part of life in the big leagues. This whining and crying and half-butt play doesn't cut it. This team will go down as one of the more talented Teams but the one that gave up. UK has the Unforgettables, we'll have the Unremarkables. I wish DD would grow some and start sitting these guys. These guys want to give up a Final Four and possible championship because their coach they liked got fired. What happened to pride in yourself and in your teammates? Except for DJ, Armon and Taber the rest need to grow up. I've never been so mad at an IU team in my life.

i agree with you for the most part...I would NOT call this year's squad a "team"...more like a collective group of talented individuals.

Pre Sampson they were rolling some. The slide began after Sampson left.

This is a 1 or 2 seed talented team but plays uninspired b-ball. Instead of making plays and working a play they play like it should just open for them and they don't have to work for it.

The decision might not come till August. By then we lose our recruiting class and take a hit for next year. They need to find one as soon as the season is over. Theres no point in waiting to see if we get sanctions before we pick one. Thats one reason why I think we will go with a younger coach. The sanctions won't bother them as much as an established coach. Hopefully they don't hire a head hunting firm and attack this as soon as tournament is over.

I'm with getting a Young Coach like Miller or Grant. Watch some of Pearl's prev loss' like the UK game. He got outcoached. Crean-way overrated. Barnes is a coach who can recruit but cant do much of anything else. A young guy like Miller or Grant have some heat and excitement to them. I'm sure if they can recruit at Flordia State,VCU and Xavier and have top teams thy would be able to at IU and Win now.

Considering Grant was Major oart of recruiting the players that won them 2 championships I think he can recruit.
