Daniel,
Charmaine here. Nice to meet you.
I love the way you expressed the importance of recognizing that creative, artistic ability comes with humbling responsibilities. Taking the eyes off of us and placing it solely on Christ.
As you quoted: "I am concerned with condition of your hair, but as a Christian, I am more concerned with the condition of your soul. â we did a extreme makeover today on your hair, but today, this very minute, Jesus can give you an eternal makeover that will last foreverâ"
Amen!

Randy...Wow...I feel like Ive joined a fantastic program already in progress and missed out on the very important "fleshy" parts that set the scene for future understanding of the picture as a whole.
I have been perusing ETC and trying to get a fuller understanding of the person that ventured to start this group "you"
Your life seems to have been a series of not only revelations into the truths that are represenetive of God, but a maturing in that faith as to allow God to coninually reveal His purpose for your life. As in Body Art it seems that you too were surprised at Gods use of those forgotten or little used talents that were always a part of Randy from the begining of time as God knows it. It seems that you have come through many challenges and firey trials in lifes course thus far, but I can see as I read the articles and blogs that you are in tune with the regenerated creature that yoiu are and are willing to be used by our Lord. What a wonderful, worshipful position to be in Randy. How awesome to recognize your creative, artistic self as a special God given way to worship HIM.
I am looking forward to an exciting, thought provoking, and enjoyable time searching the broad scope of discussion that is ETC.
In Christ care and love;
Charmaine

Randy how beautifully you place into words the experience of your morning and then finally the revelation of Christ's love and compassion for the lost and spiritually destitute. Daily I observe the world and attempt to see it through the eyes of our Lord. I have to admit that it is not always easy. I find that instead of being moved to prayer in compassion and love for those I see around me, I pass unfair judgement and am sometimes quick to make assesments based on lifstyle. Then I realize that each of has a "story" of redemption and grace. Either we have embraced or rejected it. Like the woman at the well...if Jesus were to judge her on lifestyle and fail to love her enough to forgive her and offer her eternal life then those you encountered on your trip would then hardly be deserving of your concern or prayer based on outward...for lack of a better word...YUK!
All that to say....Jesus is the PERFECT example of LOVE to this world and that as we study His Word each of must continue in our precious santification, continually maturing in the knowledge and the loving reality of God's grace that is Christ's alone.
Thank you again for your thoughts.

Josephs character seems somewhat odd to a world that caves to temptation, especially the sexual kind, far too easily. Fullfillment was certainly found in Josephs relationship with God and was mainifested in his hasty retreat from a dangerous situation knowing that the outcome of falling into that temptation would surely dishonor God.
NOW that's a character I'd like to emulate!!!

Hope I can just jump in here..
It is easy to fall into complaining and into a negative way of thinking but then we can wake up to a new day and recall to whom we owe our very lives and then ask the Father to infuse us with positive thoughts and a heart of rejoicing for our God saves and renews the hearts of all!
Here's my list:
1. Forgivness (Christ's gift)
2. Family
3. Freinds who never give up on me!
4. Health
5. A roof over my head
6. A job that allows me to share the Gospel openly!
7. A car that runs.
8. Mature christian influeneces to rely on for wisdom.
9. Freedom to express my Christian veiws without persecution (physical).
10. Eternal Security
