in Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich arrested on corruption-related charges on AMERICAblog
what's all this talk about calling for Blagojevich to "resign?" ... "throw him in prison" sounds a lot more fitting
it gives me chills to see how calm and collected he continues to act

What country are you from? Here in America we believe in the right to a fair trial....at least we that's what I learned in school.

from a PR standpoint, one might give Palin the benefit of the doubt... but seriously, she might consider her surroundings a bit more before she goes on interviews that millions will end up watching

in Auto bailout backers offer to cut $25 billion size on The Salem News
In the case of the auto-makers' bailout, it's a relief to have a national issue that is so straightforward: American cars tend to break down and fall apart therefore people are not buying them. If GM and Ford don't want to go out of business, they should start making decent cars. To bail them out would be to reward their terrible manufacturing standards.

in Movie Review: Quantum of Solace on ...unscripted?
Quantum of Solace is entertaining at least... a fantastic job with the styling and picture quality, but the movie as a whole could stand to lose six or seven fewer chase scenes

in Fox News Snags Palin’s First Post-Debate Interview on The Washington Independent
the VP debate was stunning. Palin did a decent job faking about 20% of the questions and didn't even bother answering the other 80%.
i couldn't help thinking of the end of the movie Billy Madison, when the debate moderator says to Adam Sandler, "Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

in Google Chrome to support browser plug-ins and user scripts in the future on Electronic Pulp
it's funny, the more i use Chrome (for windows), the more unstable it seems to get... crashes a lot more, can't handle sites with flash, hangs every time i close a tab... all that to say, i'm switching back to Firefox

David Gonzales
Just between me and you, I switched back to FF a long time ago (I think It'll be for good unless Chrome manages to one up the competition). The thing is, Chrome should be a dependable browser, if you don't do any "heavy" browsing.
Unfortunately for me, I usually have two to three windows open at a time with at least 20-30 tabs loaded each. Since Chrome gives each tab its own "brain" if you will, it ends up eating up the lot of my computer's memory! It's slower than IE, matt' of fact.

in The Film Talk - Part 36 - Burn After Reading / Vicky Christina Barcelona on The Film Talk
Brad Pitt can be so funny, as long as he's not taking himself too seriously... in any case, it's about time someone made good use of his habitually spastic arm movements

The_Baron
While that may be the case (Brad Pitt can be hilarious), I think what annoyed me about his role in this is that he was using the same kind of high-pitch whine that Mark Wahlberg was using in The Happening. Also, some of his "words of encouragement" came off more as patronizing rather than good-natured schmuck when talking to Frances McDormand's character. I thought it created kind of a confusing character build.

The first user-impressions are now out, and if you haven't tried out Chrome for yourself yet, I've posted a story with recommended reading regarding it. Apparently, it beats Firefox, IE, and even Safari in a speed test. I'll follow up with my own impressions later.
