I'm looking for something that has a form factor of "pocket sized", meaning that it fits comfortably with a shirt pocket, has a battery life of about four hours use, wifi.g and has a mini b usb connector for power and drive access. it should have a mininum of 8 GB with a SDHD expansion slot. Touch control and a slide out keyboard would be nice, but external quick access buttons for things like power, volume, and directionals are a must. It should support installing third party applications so that folks can do clever things with it outside of original intent. Other "nice to haves", standard sized phono/mic jack(s), bluetooth, USB master capabilities (obviously unpowered), Wi* (wimax, etc.) capabilities (although bluetooth may solve that) The "phone" bit isn't really required for me, but also a nice to have (possibly because I generally seem to have some other device acting as the phone). And yes, the N810 is pretty darn close.

sigh.
Sadly, your post makes a good deal of sense. For what it's worth, I still hold that One Yahoo was a mistake and that things were better when it was a loosely bound confederation of businesses.
Still, the best thing to do is to be a careful observer of things. Keep good notes. Experiment, and enjoy working somewhere with the full knowledge that when/if things explode in a fiery ball, you won't be one of the folks holding the smoldering pieces.

Definite Congrats are in order. As well as a sincere thank you for all you've done with MBL and Yahoo! in general. You will be missed. I'm happy to hear you're move for a couple of reasons; 1) I'm excited to see what you come up with and 2) Now I have someone at Nokia I can bitch at. Yay!

I'm not sure I want to be killed by animals after throwing rocks at them in the moonlight, but it would help be run and discover new land, albeit for a little while.

When you list it like that it sounds like it's a bad concept. Let's ignore the "killed by animals" part. :)

Oh, there already was a show? How did I miss that? Thanks for the pointer.
That being said, after watching the clip on Youtube, I don't know whether I am ready to watch Star Wars re-imagined in a Spongebob Squarepants / Dexter's Laboratory kind of way…

You know, I think I like the Genndy Tartakovsky cell-drawn version better.

Yep, sure is, and nothing to feel terribly bad about. A good part of creativity and motivation is morale and emotional. Having a loss like this (my condolences) is always a huge impact, and it takes time to rebuild a bit after that. The good thing is that you will, and it'll come faster if you don't try to force it.

I've pumped out a good amount of code last night... and felt good afterwards. So interesting (?) work seems to help; it's taking away the focus from the bad stuff. So now I'm exhausted yet a bit lighter on my feet again.
In a way, work is rejuvenating. Strange. I am a bit confused.

Yeah, the problem with most "bird sanctuaries" are the many other, less desirable winged creatures you encounter.

Hey Tom:
Looks like you don't have the right path specified in your $PATH
Try changing "/applications/airsdk/bin" to "/tom/applications/airsdk/bin" and see if that works for you.
