I found a boy who makes my stomach do flips. Whenever we kiss it is more passionate than any other kiss i've had, out of about fifty others. I love his lips and I love being pressed against his bare chest. I like holding the kiss with him and biting his upper and lower lips. I love holding him tightly and feeling the rush it gives me to lie next to him our legs and arms intertwined. He has never been my boyfriend, but I considered him my best friend. What matters to me is the feeling I get when we are together. Happiness. I thought he was perfect. I think I'm a bit in love with him though the physical distance and lack of communication is immense.

You owe it to yourselves and your firefighters to honestly consider all of the options. Just remember there are benefits and detriments to each. I am a firefighter/paramedic (not CAL FIRE) in another part of the state and have a lot of experience with this subject. I do not intend to convince you of one option vs the other, rather I hope to convince you that your community will be safe irrespective of the option selected.

CAL FIRE (aka South SC County Fire) - professional all-risk (structure fire, vegetation fire, medical, technical rescue, haz mat, etc) firefighters with the same training, certifications and dedication to their jobs as Gilroy's current firefighters. CAL FIRE provides all-risk service to cities, counties and special districts throughout California. In fact, they manage one of the largest suburban departments in the state - Riverside County Fire Dept. Their firefighters are fairly compensated based on bargained for pay and benefits, however, their service can typically save money because their personnel work a longer work week (72-hours) vs Gilroy's firefighters (56-hours). Their longer work week requires fewer personnel to achieve staffing levels (3 person engine can be staffed using 7 firefighters instead of 10 firefighters using a 56-hour work week). They can safely and effectively deliver any level of fire-rescue service requested by the City of Gilroy. Also, remember many CAL FIRE personnel have been serving Gilroy's surrounding communities for decades. Special note - as a provision of their contracts, they will offer employment to all of Gilroy's current firefighters. Something that should have been considered before laying off 6 people.

Gilroy Fire Department - professional all-risk (structure fire, vegetation fire, medical, technical rescue, haz mat, etc) firefighters that work a 56-hour work week. Deliver an exceptionally high level of service to the community with 4 firefighters on 2 of the 3 engines. Their firefighters are fairly compensated based on bargained for pay and benefits. The issue with the current fire department structure does not from the outside appear to be quality of service, but rather whether the city can afford it. If the citizens choose to cut the fire department budget and retain Gilroy FD, it will mean staffing reductions and pay cuts to the firefighters.

Santa Clara County FD (Central) - a special district providing service to many of Santa Clara County's communities (Los Gatos, Campbell, Morgan Hill, Cupertino, etc). As a special district it is NOT the county's fire department. The county does not technically have a fire department. Rather over the years Central has successfully politicked and marketed itself as the county's FD. From a legal standpoint, Central is no different than the South Santa Clara County Fire District managed by CAL FIRE. That said Central also provides professional all-risk (structure fire, vegetation fire, medical, technical rescue, haz mat, etc) firefighters that work a 56-hour work week. Their firefighters are fairly compensated based on bargained for pay and benefits. They are a contract agency just like CAL FIRE. The principal difference between the two being the 72-hour vs 56-hour work week and their pay/benefits are much higher than CAL FIRE's. Consequently their costs for service would be much higher.

In a nutshell all 3 agencies are effective, professional, well organized firefighting agencies. The principal difference, which leads to the biggest potential cost savings for communities, is the 72-hour vs 56-hour work week requires fewer personnel to cover seats in a fire engine. Fewer total personnel means fewer benefit and pension costs. These differences when forecasted over a 10 year period typically increase substantially over time.

This will be an emotional issue for the community but at the end of the day whichever agency is selected will provide safe, effective, professional all-risk emergency response to the citizens of Gilroy.

So in other words, as a MEMBER of the MEMBERSHIP of the GENERAL COMMUNITY, and as a parent of children within the league, information that could very possibly impact my children is going to be withheld ? Once again, good work.

This whole situation astounds me, and the more and more I read through this letter, the more and more I feel the current board is full of bologna and cheese. Several statements contradict themselves, and quite frankly do not make sense.

The board member(s) in question, in my mind, as well as many others, are great people. People like Rob Armstrong and Brenda Nygren are what this league needs. Not mindless hot heads who do not know the importance or true meaning of Little League Baseball. Thank you, Mr. President, thank you.

I completely agree with mike, i cant help but notice how anyone that really knows justin as a person is on here defending him cuz hes that good of a friend and a person.

And another thing. What makes what justin did, drinking some beer, such a horrible thing? just because something is illegal does not making it wrong. Just because you believe that it is wrogn to drink a beer at 18 does not make you right, infact the majority of the world disagrees with you because in all of europe and just about every other nation in the world the legal drinking age is 18. Well, well, well....Finally a website that specifically addresses the needs of African Americans/Blacks or whatever you'd like to call us and people are calling it unethical. Wake up America!!!
