I really like Ron Paul...he's refreshing and an indication of the kind of debate we'd be having if the neocons didn't hijack the GOP.

McCain's going to Tyler Durden himself over trying to appeal to the base while trying to bridge a gap to independents, and while trying to deregulate the economy while saying he's a regulator. And while saying he's for the workers, women and vets while voting against the minimum wage, equal pay, and vet programs. His psyche will split.

I think bloggers are reading waaaaaay to much into this stunt. It wasn't to deflect attention away from Palin's interview, or the Rick Davis revelations. I don't think they were trying to delay the VP Debate or necessarily dodge this one. The polls were showing Obama momentum and it was just a ploy to stem that tide.

It was a half-baked move that McCain or somebody in that room thought would work. They knew that whatever the outcome, they still have a media they can spin. It doesn't matter.

Jeeeeezus. Well I'm glad McCain helped get Washington all straightened out. I hope those standing up to this are not just trolling for votes. I am no fan of the bailout, but we can't afford another week of bad news. What happened to the idea of asking the wealthy to buy bonds to defray the cost? What would be wrong with that?
