John,
Are you moving back to Colorado Springs?
Will Element Church be seperate from RHOP?
If not will RHOP cotinue?
Will it be a seperate building? A seperate ministry?
Will Element Church be in Manitou or in Colorado Springs.
Will it be a Church that meets a couple of times each will with one or two services on Sun. morning?
Will you be the primary preaching pastor?
Will you be building "24 hour prayer"?
If so what "Prayer Model" will you use?
There are several out there. Are you familier with 24/7 Burn. that what they are tyring to do?
Do you know Sean Feucht?
Just curious.
Thanks,

John glad to hear you are going to be praying with Miles. Tell him we had a team of five men praying at RHOP last Sat. night during Hope for Israel meeting. Miles and Jodi continue to hold down the fort at RHOP, they do a great job.
It sounds like the "Fall of America" is one of the central messages of this Onething conference. Isn't Mike Bickle prophesying this both in the "Encountering Jesus" cds and from the stage at this year?
I thought the IHOP message was not how to stop it but how to prepare for both the coming tribulation and the glorious return of Jesus when He will transform not only Manitou and Detroit but the entire earth.

Hi!
Yep, it'll be awesome to pray with them. We've had some good talks so far.
The IHOP message is primarily how to prepare for the coming trouble. It's an important message. The primary message that has always propelled me is that of city transformation. I know that Manitou is to be a 'model of revival for the nations'... which means there are blueprints for city revival that other cities will use. My book 20 Elements of Revival hits on this quite a bit.
I know there are many more Transformation videos to be made... I'd love Manitou to be one of them.
The city of refuge idea is important too. We'll see forerunner cities being transformed in preparation of an influx of people when trouble comes on a global level.

My question is where is the environment where we can; Eph. 5:19 address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart Christ. Where is the place where 1 Cor. 12 each one can express the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. Most of our bible studies and small groups have been modeled after our Sunday morning services where one person gives information to several others. I’m looking for the truly nameless, faceless no hype, gathering of the body of Christ. Maybe I want too much but I don’t think I’m alone.

No, you are definitely not alone. I believe it's a healthy hungering that many are feeling.
I believe what you are describing is one (important) function of the church... but, not the entirety of it. We see in Acts everybody was in the upper room as the apostles gave direction. Then, they moved into the streets as Peter preached. In addition to all of that, eventually there were home meetings where people did what you describe.
I don't think it's either/or, but rather both/and. We need the large corporate gathering where everybody intercedes and hears the prophetic instruction from the apostles... and we need the relational, prayer based home style meetings where everybody can prophesy, worship, etc.

For those who are leaving the “Institutional Church” I don’t think it’s a matter of disobedience or bitterness, I think they are realizing that they have giftings and callings just as God ordained as the guy with a microphone. At 95% of the churches someone could attend on any giving Sunday in America, for the most part, you have hand full of people moving in their gifting and another 50-100 watching. I think the body of Christ is tired of Christianity being a spectator sport. Where is the venue for Eph. 5 to be manifest? Where everyone in attendance has something to bring and no one is presented as more Godly than anyone else. Not that we don’t have different roles and responsibilities but right now there appears to be an “us (clergy) and them (lay people)” mentality that has paralyzed the Church.

I agree there are problems with the system. I'm about to write a sister book to Covens in the Church that addresses the leadership's responsibility and relationship with the people.
That being said, I don't think the issue is giftedness, but rather, assignment. Many people desire to function in their giftings, and this is good... but, there may be seasons where God wants that person to lay their gift on the altar. God will use leaders in our lives to facilitate that process.
I believe God does choose individuals to function in certain roles. For example, we won't have the right to usurp the next President of the USA, even if we don't approve of their leadership. We can never gossip, speak against, etc. We are to pray for them, serve them, etc.
It wouldn't be appropriate to walk into a church and demand equal time on a Sunday morning even if we have a powerful message to deliver. God called that pastor to lead and has called others to join the team to ensure the vision comes to pass.
All of that being said, I know we can trust God... trust the process. If we do our due diligence, talk to leadership, serve well, etc., God will promote. If we take matters into our own hands because we disapprove of the person God assigned as our authority, we're in a risky place.
We have to be assigned by God... we can't reassign ourselves to another mission. God will honor the leader he placed in our life in that process. Is it ever right to move on? Sure, but our pastors and leaders must be involved in that process.

An exodus from God's established authority? Not sure what that means.

I wrote on this in my book Covens in the Church. There is a temptation in the church to abandon our posts because of any number of issues. There are some who are calling for people to leave institutional church because of failed or blind or abusive leadership.
We have to be careful about becoming independant and separated from those who God has called us to run the race with.
I did a podcast on this here: http://r180.com/blog/blog/2008/08/27/mobile-pod...
But, again... I haven't read the book, so my comment is not based on a study of its material... but, just thought on our relationship with the institutional church.

Hi!
No, I haven't... but, I'm a bit suspicious. I'll have to get my hands on a copy. I don't believe in an exodus from God's established authority as some propose. I know this book touches on that and I'd be curious to read it.

Amy and I are praying, and stepping... making plans, but remaining flexible.
Right now, we're planning on launching two ministries, one in Detroit and one in Manitou or Colorado Springs, and we hope to be in the Springs in late May.
Element Church would be a ministry of RHOP. The idea is based on my book 20 Elements of Revival, and also the blueprint vision I received several years ago. The main foundation of night and day prayer is RHOP, and from that various departments of the city church will emerge. Element would be one of those departments. (That's one reason I like 'element'... it's a part of the grand experiment)
RHOP and Element would share the same building in the foreseeable future, unless something dramatic happens (like a lot of money showing up!)
The plan is for Element to be an Acts 2, revival/prophecy/prayer fueled church experience. It would meet on Sundays, but that would be just a part of the entire picture. The primary activity of everybody involved will always be prayer.
I'll be the director/leader of the ministry, and will be the primary teacher/vision caster when I'm in town. However, services will be very dynamic and flexible... we'll impart and pray as the thrust of what we do on Sundays... teaching will happen, but just as a part of the whole.
I've heard of Burn, but don't know precisely what their format is.
We'll not land on a single model, but will be prophecy heavy... meaning, we'll go from season to season as the Lord leads.
So, I fully expect 24/7 prayer to happen at some point, though in the early stages we'll focus primarily on developing the team, casting the vision, imparting the core values, etc.
