At least she's not wearing one of those spiral moving bras like they used in the first or second Naked Gun. Now those were some hypnotic breasts . . ..

in The Newest Way To Game Twitter - Fake Followers on That's What He Said
I saw that tweet too, great analysis and research, although if I were a person trying to essentially engage in this type of twyOps (psychological twitter warfare or something) I'd apply a little more disinformation and pick some unknown to benefit the most from the largest number of followers.

As you mention, They will probably change their script.

Great article. :) Couldn't have said it better myself. This will make a great case study some day when ever this social media thing finally makes it on campuses. This is not really new ground, but it is a different level of profile. Its never fun being in the cross hairs, but then again, sometimes you have to go where the cross hairs might be in order to really understand the tolerance of a system.

in Choosing a theme… on Scott White
I've been working with software called Artisteer (cost about $99), but enables you to design blog themes very very easily. I am still ambling in the direction of creating a theme through artisteer that would work like a magazine setup myself.

I mention that not because I want to sell my services in that regard, but to throw out the question, did you consider doing something similar and designing your own site?

PS surfed in from Utterli :)

Scott White I did consider that. I have designed several themes for WordPress. One of the things that I didn't have going for me was time. I needed something that was nearly "plug ~n~ play".

Thanks for stopping by!!!

in I, Computer on The Paisano
My first computer was a TRS 80 also, but it wasn't one of those fancy all in one terminals like Isaac's. It was just a computer keyboard basically, that could be connected to any TV (like the old Atari 2400's were connected).

I had a magnetic tape cassette drive that I used to store my files and the tapes would get wipe out about every 5th or 6 saves. Never had a printer until the next decade. :)

it would seem to be a nice start but not quite ready for prime time. A definitely like the Utterz Service, but until this has the ability to upload audio, video, and pictures not to mention select contacts and groups if not maybe something values a lot for creating messages. I might use it for listening to audio utterz, like I would if I were calling in from a cell phone.

Again a nice start but not quite there yet. :-)

in Sarah Palin Misogyny Watch #5 on Shakesville
Hey I'm new to the site. I was referred here from Utterz. I came across this article by Eugene Robinson of the Washinton Post saying that Palin should have considered not accepting and running for VP since her daughter is pregnant.

It strikes me that women can do all sorts of things very successfully even when their daughters are pregnant.

Article here http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2...

My comment is somewhere towards the bottom

Regardless keep up the good work, and thanks to PixelFish for pointing Shakesville out to me, blog rolled you on NMI.

in Why are girls on dating sites so ugly? on The Habitation of Justice
It is a well known fact that the dating agencies and dating site administrators stack the deck on the Fugly side. They load up lots of images of ugly women (and men too) so that people will feel more comfortable loading up their own Fugly picture into the network. If everyone in the network looked like Brad Pitt, your average Joe Blow Dork would not feel comfortable loading up their picture there.

General exception for this entire post and conversation when talking about gay dating sites. That's where all the hot people are. If you are hoping to find a hot girl, you need to go load up your profile on a gay dating website. The girls there know that it takes a real man to create a profile on gay dating website. I'm married so I can't do it myself, but let us know how it goes if you give this a try. ;)
I wasn't aware that cavemen had wedding ceremonies, but I could be wrong. :ggrin:
Well, if you believe in the literal interpretation of the bible (which I don't) ;), cavemen didn't really exist. Their bones and paintings were created by god and planted in the ground to inspire doubt in man or something.

Seriously, if you look at ancient cultures from Egypt to Sumeria to China they had wedding practices and rights long before Christianity came along.

As to the parents, everyone knows that parents are the real evil doers. :)

I would disagree, marriage was around long before either christianity, judaism or islam for that matter.

Most modern religions placed themselves in positions of moral authority to over see marriages, essentially stripping people of their given freedom to choose to partner with whomever they would.

Besides my fuller point was the triad of a conflict between religion, s e x and relationships not just a face off between any 2 elements of that triad. Many crimes against humanity were committed during the middle ages, torturing, killing and burning people alive because they did not engage in sexual practices as sanctioned and specifically described by the church.

In comparison to the original topic, I think its kind of funny that today when we see aspects of 'religious' people step forward and state that it is OK for people to engage in sexual relationships with each other (inter flock mingling let's call it) that many of these groups are regarded as cultish, but when we look back on the history of christianity to the times when people were de-entrailed for anything outside of the missionary position we consider it almost normal.

Now, that example may seem like an extreme, but we are still living with it today. I just moved from Georgia to Illinois over the summer. In Georgia a 17 year old boy was put in prison for 10 years (later released after serving 4 years. He was put in jail for receiving oral s ex from a 15 year old girl. Now she also had regular old se x with other kids at the same party, but only the boy that received oral went to prison.

That is the result of christian religious hangups that still permeate through out many areas of our laws.

Now, as you yourself work in law enforcement, I'd ask would you rather be out there pursuing those vicious recipients of oral pleasure or would you rather be pursuing people that kill people?

So did some of our history’s greatest politicians, but they still turned out pretty ok.

good point, but I was looking at it from the context of sex and love.

Religion and churches have always been very political (hence the King James appointment of an independent counsel to reconfigure the bible to reflect their political goals of the day.

Politicians and Religious movements go together like fire and oil.

But religion, sex and relationships have always been at odds with each other.

in When Church Girls Become Call Girls on The Habitation of Justice
There are several churches that come into the public eye from time to time that have church girls that are ready to take care of the needs of members. These are typically cults, and usually end up with a sick and twisted result.

I suspect that women that believe in another man (say a super man that lives in outerspace) and love that super outer space alien before they love you, then they will never truly be satisfied with a mere mortal. All that said, when you are dealing with a woman that believes in super outer space alien hero types, it is usually all to easy to sway them with words.

After all they have staked their entire existence, soul and morals on the words of people that died almost 500 years ago (King James book review club). These women all too often become the victims of those with apparently fewer morals than you posses that would take advantage of their belief system weaknesses.

in “PayPerSpeech” disclosure on Scobleizer
I'm still laughing at the Galt's Gulf reference.

So if John Galt were an actual person and not a character, would he write a blog about what ever it is he wanted to and take advertorial money along the way to fund his endeavors?

or would the money be considered settling in and accepting the system and supporting the stupid bastards of the world?

He tuned in and dropped out.

(And would Dagny Taggart think Galt was still over poweringly hot for being a blogger that took ad money?)

_________________________________

If as an alternate we look at the fountainhead and Howard Roark the perspective is slightly different.

He took cllient money all the time, but only when they gave him free reign. So Roark were a blogger, would he write a sponsored article in any form he liked would and mention a company along the way? (He did put the names of his clients on the buildings he made, so is that sponsored advertising? Should Ayn have settled the question of whether or not Howard Roark should have run an ad in the paper saying, I made this building it is mine, but he named them after the wishes of the clients he worked for.

hmmmmm

in Relationship vs. Conversation on Community Guy
I would agree with your view on the success and depth of the campaign. From a relationship perspective, a relationship is over when both sides no longer care what the other thinks. Even the naysayers cared enough to say something negative.

Maybe GM will even take it to heart enough to make changes that will convert some of the anti-GM folks.

Think of the campaign GM could tout, if they could show the negatives, and then show how they improved based on the feedback they received. They could show that they actually 'listened' to their critics!

All in all it goes back to the concept that you always get some good with some bad and vice versa.
