in Glympse vs. Google Latitude in location sharing battle on Scobleizer
While editing the video interview with Bryan Trussel ( http://hyveup.tv/2009/05/bryan-trussel-glympse-where-are-you.html ), I was wondering how hard it would be for the Latitude team to develop a glympse-like timer for their users. Is Glympse in muddy waters?

in What are the tech bloggers missing? Your business! on Scobleizer
tech bloggers cannot advise other businesses because all they know about is tech.
I work in a restaurant on week ends that is right on south park st in sf (yep, inn front of Twitter's ex-offices). There isn't an ounce of new tech integrated in this business. First learn how to flip a crepe, and then think if you need to tweet about it to make it happen.
I agree with your point of view (as I am a tech geek myself), but web 2.0 technologies are not mature enough to be easily integrated in rusty business models.

Here's a Website where you can post all the videos you want, watch millions of other videos, add audio legally, do all sorts of things with the embeds, network with other video producers, gain exposure, and find great features that are unique, beneficial and exclusively on Youtube... For free.
Yet this is not enough for some people...

Are you kidding? this is great news! What we need now are softwares that can manage all of that incoming info for us and serve it in a readable way. Knowing so much about others instantly is supra valuable, and if you are on Twitter just for the raw discussion, I'm sure an app will be developed that will kick friendfeed's input out of your stream!

I agree, same problem here, every night I close a browser full of open tabs, with only but a few that I've read.
That's why I love the new feature in FF3 that allows saving open tabs when closing the browser...

ahaha. Oh man, do I feel you on this one! how many times have I said the wrong word, or used the right word in the wrong context, turning first-time encounters into awkward social situations.

We're still waiting for detailed actions with the video (time watched, forwarded, paused, back, volume...)

I would like to meet and video-interview as many Web 2.0 entrepreneurs as possible, then post the videos online for everyone outside of the event to see.

Yeah, the video ad solution is not very interesting. Users have to click on the video ad, watch a short video ad, and then click on the banner to visit the advertiser's site. They managed to make the longer click-through process ever! lamilicious!

Couldn't agree more. Ad networks aren't profitable for most publishers and only interested in selling volume. There are alternatives in stealth development right now.

I'm confused, Blogrush=crap? and it's been sitting in your sidebar since day1. What's up with that?

Blogrush isn't crap mate. In fact, I wasn't even referring to Blogrush when I said that. Just what I learned from John.
I still have the widget because I know that John is working on this.
Sorry for the confusion...
As for being in the sidebar from day 1... This is again "Speed of Inplementation".

The point is that Facebook needs to develop solutions for advertisers otherwise the ship will sink. I think the Film on Facebook is a smart app to distribute major film companies' promotional content throughout the network.

Some idea that was thrown is that the film app will probably become a full component of profile pages, making the app a powerful viral channel for promotional film distribution.

The key is to not procrastinate trying to create perfection, because nothing is ever going to be perfect, and once you achieve perfection, it might not make any money.
Much better to get something out there (this is a general rule) than to try to perfect something that isn't going to work.
With Blogrush John could have spent another year working on it, and it still wouldn't have been perfect. It is quite possible he also spent too long working on it, that happens, certainly with me.
