I ate my first cinnamon melts 1 week ago. Love them!!!
in Holland they don't have them so I should eat them as much as possible while I'm in Japan then XD

Alicia Oh, so they do have cinnamon melts there? (They have them in the US too.)

in 6 Reasons Why Kanji is Necessary on Tofugu Comments
one week I hate kanji, the other week I love kanji... it's a tough relationship!
but it's all very true what's written here though. it's hard work but in the end it's so worth it.

I can agree about that accent. I think in Dutch we just have to say a few sounds differently but most is easy to pronounce for us. But when I hear some Americans speak Japanese it just sounds kinda silly (no offense!).
anyway, here's a good example how not to speak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3won-7W3Js . specially ichi and roku are so funny.

j-doramas are japanese drama series like... ehh... friends? so not like the bold and the beautiful (dear lord!). only they usually only have around 11 episodes so prepare for no sleep until all those 11 are seen!
I personally download them at: http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents.php (with english subs)
for more info and help about which ones are good, try reading the j-dorama article! ;)

in Marrying Japanese Celebrities on Tofugu Comments
as you will see I'm kinda a fangirl of singers who turn actors but I really really don't like those jpop bands, way too backstreetboy-like with their gay outfits and dance moves and winking.
anyway, my list of Japanese people I wouldn't mind marrying are:
Oguri Shun (my first choice and not a singer !!)
Ikuta Toma
Yamashita Tomohisa
Matsumoto Jun (secretly!)
Wentz Eji
Okada Masaki (little young though)
Takeshi Kaneshiro (he's so adorable in chungking express)
I must say that hanazakari no kimitachi e was a great inspiriration. I think the phrase 'ikemen paradise' lived up to his name ^^

in Why are you learning Japanese? | Tofugu.com on Tofugu Comments
good reasons, bad reasons... who is there to judge what is good or bad? :p
as long as you are having fun doing it and being at least a bit serious about it. maybe even learning a few more words than baka and honto ni etc. otherwise you can hardly call it learning a language.
anyway, my reason... I wanna marry Oguri Shun! so I will have to be able to understand him first and then impress him with my skills ;)
honestly though, I wanna go into tourism, media, journalism or something like that (not 100% sure yet) abroad and the country/language/culture that was most appealing to me was Japan. I'm only in my 1st year of college so it'll take a while, but I got time :)

the ones I didn't like:

I need more to feed the addiction...
