in Oprah & Pelosi Highlight Haggard on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
Yes, good overview of the show. I thought Ted and Gayle held up well under fire, with grace and poise, even as Oprah seemed to "come apart " at moments when her philosophical/theological tenets (whatever you want to call them) were challenged. I believe God will use this family in even greater ways because of their willingness to be transparent and follow Him, even into the lion's den. Pelosi's response is a "wow!"

in “Stop It” Therapy for The Masses - A Day Dream on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
It seems so unfair to be labeled "ex-gay" since it's no worse a sin than any other. 1 Corinthians 6:9 f lists greed, theft, idolatry, and slander right up there with homosexuality, yet you never hear someone who has been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb referred to as an ex-idolater" or "ex-slanderer." Our identity in Christ presents us to the world as a new creation. The only use for the old life labels from which we have been delivered is to share the victory Christ has brought. I can attest to that as God has set me free from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Still, I don't go around calling myself an ex-OC. Eileen, daughter of the King, is just fine by me. :)

Well Said Well Said! I don't go around calling myself an ex-depressive ex-ADD glasses-only-contacts-are-forbidden (aint' nobuddy gunna put those things in my eyes) non-pierced ex-broken-armed half azorean-portuguese ex-roman-catholic etc etc etc etc yuck. I like to refer to myself as a follower of Christ and a new creation In Him with a saved spirit, a being saved soul, and a body not yet saved/regenerated.

Yes, this may well be the impetus that changes the complacent, lukewarm Church. God help us to be strong.
